Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

Best killer and perks for someone new?

Getting a bit sick of how toxic the survivor community is at the moment so what is the best option for someone who has only played survivor and wants to git gud at killing?

Depends, what killers do you have available?

For the base game Billy is probably the best choice.

He's fairly standard for the most part, 32m terror radius, 115 move speed etc but with his chainsaw he can sprint across the map and instadown.

Also Enduring is one of the best perks in the game. Makes pallet loops bearable since it shortens stuns but most importantly it counters decisive strike AKA that perk that shouldn't be in the game.

Other good perks - No one escapes death. Yeah opinion is divided but there's no doubt it's a very strong perk.

I'd definitely either go with the Hillbilly or the Hag. Both are pretty strong and have great perks. Specifically Enduring on the Billy and Ruin on the Hag. Billy takes a bit of practice to use his chainsaw properly to down survivors, but when it works, it's lethal. He can also use the chainsaw sprint for great map pressure. The Hag, similarly, has great map pressure. You can set traps to defend key locations and teleport to them in a pinch, or place them down mid-chase to cut a loop short.

Other miscellaneous perks you would want to run could be Sloppy Butcher, which is easy to get and helps to slow the game down a bit. No One Escapes Death is pretty toxic and will get survivors to yell at you, but it'll come in clutch if you're struggling to secure those kills. Brutal Strength is a great quality of life perk you can get off the Trapper too.

Hag requires knowledge of maps and knowing where Survivors are going to run to. As someone who played only Survivor, you should be adept at this key knowledge to being a good Hag.

Hillbilly is definitely a good option. If you're brand new to the killer side of things, can't go wrong with Trapper either. If you get good at your trap placements things can snowball VERY quickly.

As for general perks for usage, Enduring from Billy is good for recovering from pallet stuns. If you can either get Hag for Ruin or snag it off shrine that's a good call too.

Thank you for the tips, I will put some points into Billy and Hag so I can get the ball rolling!

I decided to play Legion for my first few games and it made me a little ill xD

Hag and Leatherface were my first two for leveling up teachable perks.  Both can do well at low rank and potato Survivors. Both have great perks too.  Leatherface's BBQ&Chili is great for both finding players (albeit slightly nerfed now) amd for Bloodpoint farming, trust me, you WANT BBQ for those sweet bonus points. Franklin's Demise is a great counter to SWF groups using a bunch of items imo.

Hag's Ruin is really strong and Devour Hope is a fun perk, though both are vulnerable being Hex Perks.

I'd say after those two you're more or less free to move on to whomever else you want, though (Teachable Perk wise) Id suggest Spirit and Nurse as they both have solid Perks to learn
