This new tile is really bad
What are you even meant to do with this? The pallet and window are super unsafe. It's essentially like they moved a Z-Wall (honestly Z-Walls might be safer than that window lol) into the map and gave it the world's unsafest pallet to go with it.
If you connected the Window and Pallet tiles together, I think that could be a pretty balanced tile (like a weird variation on a Pallet Gym with an unsafe window once the pallet is broken).
As it stands though, this just takes up a Maze Tile spawn and a pallet without providing anything to work with. This one needs to go back to the drawing board.

This and that weird 3 wall double window deal on macmillan that counts as a jungle gym without a pallet.
14 -
Does anyone know how many times they have added new tiles without mentioning it in the patch notes?
13 -
like twice lol, only other time i can remember is last patch with macmillian. but they did forget to mention changing tile spawn in eyrie of crows, also removing pits from eyrie and garden of joy
5 -
I mean, its refreshing. But they're not good.
8 -
That's every killer's dream
6 -
Wait theres new tiles?
2 -
seems they keep forgetting to put this information in new patch notes....
5 -
Try linking it into other tiles or using it for Lithe.

I was playing on Azarov against Oni playing 3 Gen, I m SOLO-Q survivor, these new tiles made is so bad LOL.
0 -
looks like they think the kill rate is still to low and they add more unsafe tiles.
mindgames? nah, thats that overwhelms the players.
8 -
Free down to people who doesnt use Lithe?
18 -
... they removed the pits?
3 -
yeah i haven't seen them in month, sad they were cool
maybe they couldn't get them to work with certain powers idk
1 -
Nah buddy mindgames are one of the few skill machanics in this game and since mmr still acts like a drunken teen throwing random stuff in a vdlender for a cool smoothie we can't have that

I haven't seen them on eerie recently, but I'm fairly certain I saw one on Garden of Joy last week. I'm not wild about them being total deadzones, but the elevation change, paired with survivor third-person, definitely has its niche utility
1 -
Well I've gotten a lot of eyrie but I guess not a garden of joy anytime soon. Last time I saw the pits was with Wesker's release

I feel like Behaviour want to turn this game into competetive game making sweaty SWF groups and sweaty killers closer to each other, trying to find balance between SWF groups and sweaty killer mains while ignoring SOLO-Q players. Incoming new tournaments are more important than to put work at fixing Kindred perk because swf groups dont need it, just couple solo-q players who equip perk after reading patch notes it was fixed making strong nurse benefit because nurse is already blinking out to your position before you can see it.
Hopefully in future theres something new for Solo-q players.

They probably saw Cope abusing those broken infinite z-walls against some poor killer and thought it would be a great addition as a jungle gym
5 -
Nice strawman.

It's not the worst tile to exist, it's just not as safe as jungle gym 1/2, or an i wall tile etc.
Still many uses for it though, but certainly a tile where everyone's skill will impact it and gives value to weaker perks
1 -
Jesus, a tile killer can play around. Unacceptable!
2 -
Depending on maps this goes on a weaker tile might help to balance some maps. Only issue is if shelter woods was to get this tile that would be rough.
1 -
I think we did a pretty good job so far
4 -
Still my fav DBD meme lmao

I'll expand on this comment to help people understand.
Firstly this isnt the worst tile in game, while it's not mega safe it doe contain a pallet and a window which does mean lithe can be used.
The walls are also tall walls, there are tiles this size but have a small height meaning killers like huntress, trickster, slinger have it way easier so this has that benefit not to mention 110% killers are slower so you can do far more rotations.
Being a more unsafe pallet the killer will respect it more as they dont wanna get stunned by an unsafe pallet, this just means you can greed it alot and give the mindgame of "are they dropping this time"
If you manage to pull of a stun you'll get to a new and better tile, if you have smash hit youll gain mega distance for what is a weak pallet.
This pallet while not safe is a great filler to just be used against powers like bubba to stop him getting you before you get to a new loop or even oni, blight who have limited turn during their power and so they will break the pallet but give you time to get to a safer loop.
Not everything has to be a jungle gym or a really safe pallet

I think this is a new autohaven only tile. I might be wrong tho

That double window tile on Macmillan is really fun actually (if we're thinking about the same one). It's a nice variation on an LT wall.
Yeah, I've only seen it in Autohaven.
2 -
I don't think you know what a strawman is.
I like that they're trying to add new tiles in to mix things up, that new double window tile they added to Macmillan (and I think Autohaven now) is fun to run. However, this newest tile is just really bad.

Lithe dependable tile, just like some tiles are Balanced Landing dependable.. Sure, it sucks when you don't run Lithe, but what can you do.. The killer has to be the power role and shall earn his or her down even if you're performing exceptionally well, but at a huge cost.

I think stuff like this is just more noticeable since stun and vault times were reduced for killers. It definitely feels There are a lot of unsafe areas and dead zones around the game at the moment .
0 -
Neither Stun nor Vault times were reduced. This tile is just bad.
1 -
Stuns were reduced from 5 to 3 seconds and killer speed for vaulting windows was uffed in the update that people hated. The tile may be bad but my point is I feel some tiles are starting to be more noticeably so due to the above
0 -
Decisive Strike was nerfed to 3 seconds, pallet stuns weren't changed at all.
Killer vaults were buffed... 4 years ago?????
3 -
No idea, but part of me both likes it and hates it. I love the mystery of loading a game and seeing something new and thinking about ways to loop it, but I hate just being at a tile I have seen before without being able to think about the tile properly.

I'm all for changes and new stuff but this tile looks very bad from a survivor perspective and very good from a killer perspective. Not so weird we see some complaint about it and some liking it :)
I saw a PTB video with a barrel next to a wall in the new tile that only survivors can go through and not the Killer, is that also in the live version? I can't play until next weekend so can't try it myself..

Why not answer his question? It's not a strawman. You mentioned lithe.
4 -
awww, i liked the pits!

I thought the same thing. But these things might be too large to even chain them. The pallet and the window are not going to buy you too much time and getting to the next loop will be very close at best and impossible otherwise. They might need to tweak these tiles a bit.
1 -
tbh I think its because they originally intended for the Artist's crows to be "floor hugging" and descend with the pits and come back up, but they couldn't get it to work right and they always kept their height like they do now. Or they intended them to be extremely niche spots where you could duck under the killer's power, which became kinda pointless since almost every other ranged attack is affected by gravity. That basically made them another map specific nerf to Artist on her own map, which already has plenty of nerfs specifically for her due to its architecture.

Not sure if it has changed, but I'm pretty sure for the first 8m of firing her crows they will follow the altitude of the ground. It's only when they change to a flock and can go through walls that they no longer change altitude. I've definitely sent crows up hills thinking they would go through the hill in the past.
1 -
today i had a pit on garden of joy. they seem to be still in game.
1 -
Its a good transition tile like a TL but it seems to always spawn at the end of tile sets. Problem is it seems to (I could be wrong here) have the same tile budget as a short wall jungle gym. Sometimes you get lucky and get a window into shack door.

I'm pretty sure the flock still goes up stairs and slopes, but at no point to they descend. If they go up stairs and over a balcony, they just fly harmlessly above the rest of the map. Its part of why those little hills around maps make a hard counter for her. I havent seen anything saying this behavior has changed but i also havent played her for a few months now, so if its finally been addressed i'd love to hear it.
I should also note that its dependant on slopes specifically, likely as a means of avoiding it only working upstairs on maps like the game or midwitch. I actually dont remember testing hitting those hills from the non-sloped sides, so i'm curious if they go through or jump up from those other directions as well.
0 -
I'm not sure on descend either, but I do believe it's only on the slope sides of hills. Generally most of the time you are hitting survivors going up rather than going down. As I said it is only active during the short time the crows are crows and not a flock. Once they become a flock they just fly through everything.
Honestly I think a big problem with Artist is just not knowing how her crows will travel at times. Sometimes the crows "hit" a wall due to collision boxes and become a flock dealing no damage even though it visually looks like it should have just dealt the damage. Then sometimes you fire at a target far away and the crows don't fly exactly the way you pointed and end up really off the mark.

She really just needs her nuances to be more consistent and self-evident. Her power is unique and very interesting but a lot of it isn't very intuitive, which is probably also a big part of why she is so frustrating for many survivors who don't understand her.
All that said I don't have the means to test much with her at the moment, but if you happen to end up doing any feel free to @ me about it with the results if you'd like.

I don't think we know the tile budget that tile uses. The only way to get that value would be through datamining anyway.
0 -
I suggested that you'd use it with other nearby tiles, or use it with Lithe, since Lithe makes any window a quick getaway. But all you took from that is, "Oh, you have to use Lithe just for it to be good?"
0 -
the killer can mindgame the tile. the pallet seems fine, but an issue with the tile is bloodlust. this the issue with unsafe pallets are not useful since the killer will eventually hit you regardless of how well you play the tile. this is why a lot of the pallets are safe because they force the killer to kick the pallet to break the bloodlust. Supposedly bloodlust is there to counter safe pallets but fails to counter safe tiles because you know... they're safe pallets.
the window could use a buff. its too short on both sides. they should double distance on one-side and increase other side by 1/3 more. it would also help if the window faces the pallet in any direction. I still think buffing weak killer powers is a lot better but I guess adding unsafe tile also bridges the gap between strong and weak. killer power will turn into being cosmetic.

I don't know how you're meant to chain it with other tiles when this one gives you zero distance lol.

It's not that complicated. Have y'all never seen 2 tiles spawn next to each other?
