The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

Deathslinger is the worst Killer in the game.

Every Killer has at least 1 niche to them, even Killers considered to be the weakest in the game (Trapper, Freddy, etc) have at least one playstyle that can help them not suck as much. The one exception to this rule however is Deathslinger. Not only does Deathslinger have no alternative playstyle or tech that can help him not suck as much but overall as a Killer all the tools he has are so, so damn lacking in power. First of all, he's a ranged Killer...with a limit on his range which means he's already weaker than Trickster and Huntress. Secondly not only does his power take a painful amount of time to pull up but it also takes a long time to reel in the survivor and then afterward hit them AND then have to reload. Let's assume the Deathslinger is able to shoot a survivor, then has to take 6 seconds to reel them in, then go through the 2.7-second weapon wipe, then has to do the 2.75-second reload afterward. That's nearly 12 seconds just to injure a survivor whereas any other ranged Killer would've been able to already down the survivor. Thirdly he has some of the worst add-ons in the game and is incredibly limited in what he can use in a match. And finally, he is one of the most unforgiving Killers in the game as missing more than a couple of shots in a game can and will lead to the Deathslinger losing hard.

So just a quick recap the Deathslinger has the same extremely long stuns the Twins have without the insane map pressure and chase power they have, slows down so much when reloading and ADSing, has add-ons that are on a similar level to that of Phead, is extremely unforgiving as missing shots can easily snowball into a win for the survivors, he can be countered by pre dropping and holding W. And after all the weaknesses he has, he doesn't even have a strong chase power to make up for all of the L's he has. The only thing that saved him from all of these was the fact that his ADS time was instant meaning survivors more likely than not couldn't react to him at all and would have to predict when he would shoot. Once that was removed we were left with an empty shell of a Killer with not even a glimmer of what he once was. I understand why he was nerfed in that regard as it was extremely unfun to go up against but he should've been compensated for it and yet he wasn't. Please BHVR, after visiting the Twins the Deathslinger needs to be buffed in some regard or even have a minor rework. In his current state he might as well be unplayable.

Honestly, even if you think he is bad, he is still more than viable. I'd make the arguement he is just awfully designed in general tbh, not fun to play as nor against, mainly due to the hit validation.

As someone who used to play a lot of Deathslinger and dislikes what they did with him, he's not the worse killer in the game.

You are just forced to play him as a zoner, because going for actual shots is risker.

Deathslinger is far from the bottom.

Sadako would like a word with you, lol

And twins I guess, especially if this UB thing goes through

He isn't good at all anymore and is indeed quite bad. But he's not even in the bottom 5. Which should tell you just how bad some other killers are.

I would put Deathslinger in low C Tier, but he's definitely not the worst. I think Trapper, Freddy, Myers (besides a couple broken addons), and Sadako (besides a very specific mori build) are definitely in a worse spot.

You're not wrong that he feels awful to play sometimes though.

Yeah. Rip Deathslinger. He has zero unique strengths anymore and is super clunky to use. It's sad cause he used to be my second most played Killer.

Dropped him so fast after his nerfs.

    Funny way to spell Trapper

the problem is that his zoning is not viable because he loses m/s when holding his gun and canceling his gun. The fact that going for shots is too much risk means that his gun has too much counter-play.

this is why his ADS changes needs reverts and arguably his terror radius also needs revert because 32 meter with 110% m/s is silly. by lore, he is hunter. he is suppose to be stealthy. lower TR reduces the whole hold-w before chases. 24 meters was just fine and the perk reducing it to 16 tr is smart perk synergy by the killer.

Trapper has issues, but at least he's got one of the best snowball potentials in the game and the most dangerous traps in the game.

What's Deathslinger got going for him? The clunkiest gun known to gaming... that's what.

Also Trapper is actually fun. Hearing that snap + scream is very satisfying.

I wasn’t aware that every killer was above C tier. Did I miss something?

Just because you lost a game as deathslinger doesnt mean hes bad. id argue hes b+ if you know how to play him.

As someone who plays slinger a lot, he is far from worse, not because he is good but because we have jokes the likes of sadako and freddy.

Any decent team will mop the floor with a slinger in most maps, for example the fact that people still get sniped shows how bad the average player is, slinger is by no means the worst killer, but to be dominated by him you need to be really bad at the game.

Not even, any half decent team hurts him really bad and map RNG destroys him. Good luck playing him on RPD or any other map with lots of line of sight blockers. But by all means if it really is a skill issue then please show me proof of a really good deathslinger destroying a really good team.

Main reason why I didn't say Sadako was the weakest is because she still has that slugging condemned strategy which makes her a bit better, but even with that she still sucks.

And yeah once the UB changes come along without any twins changes then they're gonna take a hard hit.
