Just had an "interesting" social interaction after a match

wow, I just had someone really go for my throat verbally for not playng the game the way he thought I should have been on the PS4. Us both survivors.

Somehow I've reached rank 6. I dont feel like rank 6; I feel like rank 12; I do think its too easy to rank up, I just don't feel good enough to be rank 6, and I've struggled, but I do my best.

But right after the game, he found me online and just hurled attack after vile attack, after which he said from that point forward, he was going to play killer, hunt me down, and face camp, tunnel, and mori me. "and trust me, I always find my prey." He also called me kid a lot.

It didnt bother me. I laughed at him. I pointed out that I'm 49, so people calling me kid makes me bust out laughing, rather than insult me, and his threats also amused me. Usually they do. And if he really was that upset over a single match that he thought I should have done better with, then he really needed to up his meds.

He then said that he reported me... for body blocking apparently? I'm not too concerned, but the entire thing did leave me chuckling. I told him I'd report him for verbal abuse if necessary, and he responded IDC. I then blocked him, but still, really not mad, more amused, but this is rather toxic.

Any of you ever encounter anyone like that in this game?

What was he mad about? I'm genuinely curious what set him off.

8/10 games are like this on console

Instead of blaming themselves for mistakes it's easier blame others

Console survivors being as toxic as always lmao. Yeah I’ve had both survivors on my own team send me messages even when I play killer it’s like these people are always mad at something.

That’s honestly pathetic tbh. I literally began to keep my messages for friends only and yet people still add me and type a message even then it’s so funny how far these people will go.

I’m going to make my messages public once again cuz honestly I don’t care at this point. Getting angry messages over a game is pretty funny lmfao.

much like most every other online game, I wish there was a way to avoid players you know to be toxic... I get that an avoid system could be abused... but still...

These type of altercations are a dime a dozen. If they break PSN rules they get reported, and banned, but I usually just block them, as you did. However, these are not the ones that I remember. The ones that I remember are the ones where the killer sends you a GG, or a well played. On the other side, it’s great to hear survirors appreciating the game that you gave them, even if you did 4k or 32k them. When a survivor plays a great game against me, I will sometimes take him/her to the hatch, drop them, and give a little spin.

Just yesterday, I picked up and dropped the last survivor 3 times to let him stand, and then took him to the hatch. Then later that same day I was the last survivor alive, with 1 other already on the hook, and I Kobe’d in front of the killer. He sent me a message that he respected the 4%, let me open the exit, and we chatted for a bit after that. Those are the interactions that I prefer to remember. GG

Nah, in DbD toxiciety practically doesn't exist.

That’s really just a thing on all platforms, it’s only worse on console because you’ll have that one guy spamming you with notification pop-ups because he wants to b**** at you in voice chat.🙄🙄🤦‍♂️

yeah, mine used lots more colorful language than that. He tried to dredge up every curse word in the english language, as well as threatening to hunt me down in every lobby to camp, tunnel, and mori me over and over. I was rather amused by that threat.

Thats the thing, I'm not entirely sure. At a guess, I think the fact the killer juggled a character I THINK was him to avoid a DS before hooking him. I guess that because I saw it happen from around the corner. I had a flashlight but I'm terrible at it and the killer's back was to me almost right next to the hook, so no way I could position in time anyway.

And the person in question said, roughly, "It was your job to either flashlight him or bodyblock him so I could get my DS in, and he was some noob killer juggling me to avoid the DS. "

So I'm assuming that was him. Reason I didn't was, I'm terrible at the flashlight, but I had no other gear available in my inventory pre match, so that's what I took. I've used the flashlight successfully once, or maybe twice, and he was right next to me on the other side of the wall, so I thought I'd just unhook him right after the killer left. You know, if he didn't camp.

So that's what I did. Apparently even though I unhooked him, the fact i didn't stop him from being unhooked, or helping him not waste his DS, was what enraged him. shrug I did what I thought was best, and I DID help, so I was kinda surprised he was so angry.

@Morfedel LOL I don't get why survivors get mad when a killer juggles them. Like, you want them to just eat your DS? Maybe don't go down near a hook, they are 24m apart after all. This guy sounds like the purest example of a bad survivor.

Welcome to the multi player experience. I typically mute my social options in most games, ESPECIALLY in this one. I like the online competition but cans stand the salt and personality design flaws of many player. That being said I have still made some quality friendships online, somehow.

It's a special kind of person to get this angry over a video game. When I get messages like this I call them a corky and laugh and laugh how stupid they come off.... I can't help but imagine some smelly neckbeard on the other end.
    Good times.
