No DC penalty = Not worth playing.
We're in the middle of a event and you guys decide to disable DC penalties for whatever reason.
How is it even worth playing when there's someone dcing every game? Why should we play an unwinnable game?
This is just ruining the event. Thankfully I already got all cosmetics on first day.
Please enable DC penalty back.

They turned it off because seemingly putting up the event content resulted in an increasing crashing rate and they turned it off until they fix it.
Just goes to show all those "Turn the DC penalty off for my ######### setup/connection or other personal problem" what their selfishness would result in.

I havent crashed a single time and my frame rate is fine. I'm on a 1070. Idk who is having problems with it right now.

Well I have played only three matches during the anniversary since December so i can't judge the current situation but overall the game did crash for me maybe half a dozen times SINCE IT'S RELEASE. On two different PC, in 3 different households and only ever got one 5 minute penalty and took that as a sign to stop for that evening.
So I also can't understand those people whining for DC penalties to get removed. Especially since most if not all other online pvp games with fixed teams have them.

I've played around 30+ matches since the event started and I havent crashed a single time.
1 -
I was froze one time in lobby when switched to other role, sometimes after a trial I'm getting display problems where my bloodweb flickers
Also had a trial against deathslinger which got crashed at the start of a chase
1 -
And we have to ask, where are you playing? How is your internet? Console? Pc? Specs?

My game hasn't crashed in a few hours of playing the event, but I've been much, much laggier than usual (screen freezing a few times), which never happened to me on the game before.
4 -
Hasnt happened to me.

I believe the issue is mostly on console for those saying they have not had crashes. I have had one crash where both me and killer got disconnected at the same time but this was before penalties were turned off and I didn't get a penalty for that.
I suspect we will see a hotfix in the next couple of days, at least I would hope so otherwise the no DC penalty thing will kinda ruin this otherwise pretty decent event

I just dont think it is that big of an issue to the point of removing the dc penalty.
And from experience, I could see it wasnt an issue, since i barely got any dcs before it was disabled.

In my games barely anyone DCs. Maybe the killer or the playstyle in your games brings them to dc
2 -
I crashed and I have 3080
1 -
Na, people dc just because. Always have been like that.
7 -
How many times have you crashed in how many games?
0 -
Not in my games. Never have has been
0 -
I'm sorry but I'll just not believe that. I'm at 6,238 hours right now and there has ALWAYS been people dcing for mediocre reasons.
4 -
I work during the week and can only play during the weekend so this is after removing the penelties.....I haven't been able to get a single event item. Either I play survivor and 2-3 survivors DC for what ever reason, the killer DCs, or as Killer the Survivors DC before I can down them or flat out leave.
They need to hit fix the event and extend it but they won't and won't announce anything regarding this issue or acknowledge it.
1 -
And I don't believe you either. I played since 2016 when dc penalty wasn't even existing. It was no problem back then and no problem now
0 -
I agree, I saw maybe a few a couple DCs from my Survivors and I believe at least one was actually a crash because it felt really random, they were doing reasonably well enough to not feel like DCing.
2 -
I also haven't crashed a single time. I'm on PC.
1 -
Idk, it's random

You, 1 person, vs thousands who complain about dc being a problem. I wonder who's right right?
5 -
That dude is using the exact type of argument you are using when talking about those crashes.
8 -
No, because I'm talking from experience. I play a lot everyday, and before the dc penalty being disable, there werent that many dcs. Now there's 8/10 matches.
I havent even seen many people complaining about crashes.

In addition to possible crashes there were also some reports that hackers found a way to disconnect other players. That happened once before a long time ago and they turned the DC penalty off then too with a similar regrettable spike in disconnects, it sucked. Hopefully they patch whatever is wrong so they can turn the penalty back on.

Haven't seen a single DC the whole day today and yesterday. The only DC is saw was a legit DC because the game crashed on my SWF buddy (which I could see because she was repairing a gen which was clearly already done).
1 -
I'm on console and I have had my game crash since the event started. Happened to two of my friends too.
I've also seen it happen to other players mid match for no reason. Killers when they are winning the match so they had no reason to DC. Same for survivors. We'd be down to one gen, nobody on death hook then someone randomly DC's.
2 -
Then it's a console problem.

You are absolutely full of yourself. How many people need to complain for you to acknowledge a problem? How many do you think don't complain and just stop playing because, you know, they cannot? Bhvr says it is a big enough issue to justify disabling DC penalities. You disagree and would rather those unfortunate, crashing souls may not play at all, this is fine. Personally, I have crashed once on PC.
2 -
But you also win 99% of all your games.
6 -
But you don't win 99% of your games like them *wink*wink
3 -
You have crashed once out of how many games?
It just seems like you people are defending DC penalties being off.
0 -
If there wasnt a DC problem the devs wouldnt have implemented a penalty.
But what would I know, last time I made a thread asking for people to stop dcing because they were ruining the game I got attacked like I was asking for such a big thing.
0 -
All I initially did was to point out that your argument about crashes is as flawed as Codismylife's about DCs.
0 -
Good for you. People DCing are still ruining my solo q games.

I had a match v gunslinger where I thought I was going to crash. Game froze when he shot me, then it looked like I was running in boxes and my controls were being weird. He hooked me and I killed myself kn hook so I'd atleast get the little BP I had because it felt like I'd get a game crash if I stuck around.
When I played my killer matches last night (enough to get all the Halloween killer challenges done and all but 2 of level 1 of the tome killer challenges) I only had 2 survivors DC in different matches and they definitely were games crashing not people rage quitting. I'm also a low MMR killer where you'd think most rage quit DCs would be because it's easy peasy 4ks.
Last time I played Survivor was Friday and I had one teammate DC during the sacrifice animation and that was it.

No issue it's worth disabling the penalty because it only causes more trouble for those who DONT have connection issues. They disabled the penalties before and it was a HUGE DC fest of players "claiming" they were having connection issues.
After event dropped I haven't had any strange DCs or lag spikes like others have claimed. Now that could be because of my area I live or my specs but that's besides the point I'm trying to make.
If Actual connection issues were caused by the event then they could of dialed back the event to fix the problem.
2 -
I dont doubt there might be connection issues for some people, but is it really THAT many that is worth disabling the DC penalty?
All it did was leave people with connection issues still disconnecting and now people also disconnecting because they rage quit.

I thought the event would be fun but with all the DC's they occur even more than usual, it's insane. I also got my cosmetics as of today but it still is annoying when they game becomes so much harder. There's also a bigger ocurrance of people who have no idea how to play, makes it more frustrating than it has to be.
0 -
Hackers were already forcing people to DC before, so why only disable it during the event?
0 -
What about the 100 thousands of people who don't complain???
1 -
Yes but what has that to do with DCs?
0 -
What about the 10 million who don't complain but still want the DC penalty?
1 -
Means your opinion isn't credible.
1 -
Regardless of whether or not we can determine the exact reason as to WHY the penalty was disabled, I doubt BHVR have done it just for a laugh. It wouldn't surprise me if there's something in the event's code that is causing crashes. I myself haven't experienced any and I am on console whereas others have experienced them. It's clear then that the cause of the crashes isn't something that can be easily identified and patched, so in the meantime the penalty has been disabled.
Obviously it's led to more DCs from players who just don't want to play at all (for some reason) but what is the alternative? You can't have players be locked out of playing the game through no fault of their own. In an ideal world the event would have launched without any problems at all but that's the situation we're dealing with. It's necessary, and the ironic silver lining here is that hackers no longer get to have their fun because players can instantly leave their games with no consequence. But I understand it's frustrating, I've had a few games go south for no reason other than someone giving up the second they get a map/killer they don't like. I can't stand those types of players.

Why?
2 -
I don't see many dcs
3 -
As I'm replying to you just had a GF that dced because "too many jungle gyms"
1 -
I had GF who was getting 5 gen runned with 0 hooks. He didn't DC.
