this halloween update messed up everything...
seriously i won't play the game anymore until you'll fix once and for all those crush problems with your game. I played a match today when suddently my pc literally frozen completely, forcing me to restart it manually. I don't want to ruin my pc for a game messed up so badly, so until this problem exist, you won't see me anymore. I invite other players to do the same. One thing are the various bugs that this game has (annoying but still acceptable if you like the game), another one is having bugs that can potentially RUIN my computer

I don't think the bugs in the game are going to ruin your computer, even if you have to hard reset it. It isn't really how computers work. Now, if you wanted to screw up your computer hard reset it or shut it down when it's installing updates while it's either starting up or restarting.

did you have proofs of what you said? it isn't normal what's happening right now, and in the doubt i prefer don't play at all 1 game than keep playing this game with the risk to have my computer ruined by it... you are free to do whatever you want, but personally i want a stable game without risks

Yes, I have 26 years of computer experience, that's my proof.

then i wonder how you could consider those problems just normal administration... seriously, after all those years and they still have a game that seems a new game under development (aka a beta version)

And where is YOUR Proof that it's the game that froze your pc? A graphics driver bug could do the same, which the game would only use!
I for my part NEVER have experienced DBD freezing my whole PC. Game crashes sure, there were plenty, but never had to restart my machine. So which anectotal evidience counts more, yours or mine?

I guess the multiple people having crashes since the halloween update. It happened to me too and my pc is not exactly a bad pc.

All the problems that people are experiencing aren't already a solid proof? Nuff said...

Actually that can ruin your PC by doing a lot of hard shut downs, it's can cause a variety of issues but from that specific issue your power port could go out because if you're doing that more than a couple times a day then it's damaging your computer in some way shape or form even if you don't see it immediately, and a computer freezing up and being shut off improperly multiple times a day could damage your motherboard as well. I personally haven't had an issue with mine but I don't doubt the claims

Or, since many PC players will have an NVIDIA graphics card, it's also possible that NVIDIA rolled out a bad driver. It wouldn't be the first time.
All I'm saying is, when the game crashes, it's likely the game itself. But when the whole machine is freezing and gets unresponsive, so it has to be restarted, that usually points to some driver / os / hardware issue.

I play on a crappy laptop and I haven’t crashed once during this event. Perhaps your PC is the issue.

technically it shouldn't be the same for other games too then? yet with the other games everything is going smoothly, without problems
a lot of people complained about those crashes and my pc isn't exactly a weak one... i strongly doubt it that's a issue of my pc if most of the people out there have a similar experience...

On my console I have had the game error out on me 4 times these last 2 days. So it can't just be a PC issue.

"technically it shouldn't be the same for other games too then? yet with the other games everything is going smoothly, without problems"
Not necessarily, it all depends which features of the graphics drivers are used by the respective games. It could also be a hybrid issue, with DbD using something in a wrong way and the driver not handling it correctly.
Another possible issue might be overheating. DBD seems to be very demanding for CPU / GPU, when it runs my PC's coolers are running at full power. With other games it's not so bad.
