Hm. Tbh as killer i hardly ever trigger a hook grab. Usually just turns to a normal hit. One time i did trigger it, the person i grabbed was a nea who'd been toxic af to me all game so can't say i have a huge issue with hook grabs.
But it would go a little way to preventing hook camping and tunneling so might be worth doing.

Oh I had that same thing happening to me and my teammate the other day, where they were grabbed right after unhooking me. We were all very confused about it !

Hook grabs are weird. I've been grabbed after successfully unhooking the survivor, and I've gotten to 100% for more than a split second, been yoinked, and the person stayed on the hook.
Personally I think non-injured hook grabs shouldn't be a thing, as they encourage unhealthy gameplay.

Removing hook grabs wouldn't even really make a difference generally, though I also think that they should completely removed the ability to hit a hooked survivor because I don't know how many times I have hit pretty much completely through the survivor attempting the rescue and hit the hooked survivor.

It really goes both ways. They seem super buggy. Most of the time I end up in that weird hook standoff, the grab animation will start then an m1 hit will go off. I don't even think it's based on ping, because I run 50 ping and I check the survivor I interacted there and they are usually good too. Though I don't end up in these scenarios often enough for a full opinion.

They said standoffs for hatch were bad gameplay. By extension standoffs trying to get the unhook is bad gameplay. No reason you should have to fake the unhook and play chicken to get the save. Should just be able to get trades only

Yeah, they need to fix that, getting grabbed after the unhook. It affects both killer and survivors.

It doesn't sound like something that needs to be changed. I would imagine that in most cases, the killer is right there when another survivor tries to unhook their friend. It's not the smartest gameplay. I agree with the previous poster that hits shouldn't go toward the hooked survivor when the killer makes a hit; they should go toward the survivor trying to make the save.

Hook grabs are so inconsistent, it's a mechanic that for sure should be reviewed.

This is true sometimes you'll have the grab and freeze for a sec instead of getting it clean , there should be a validation system for grabs .

I'll trade you the removal of healthy hook grabs, in return for killers being able to grab survivors that are healing

??????????? It would make a huge difference.
So many killers try to cheese a healthy hook grab into a game-ending situation because it is such a skilless yet strong advantage for the killer.
Forcing actual hook trades by removing healthy hook grabs is something the devs need to do.

Why would he? no noed and the timer is very high still.
this is not one of those moments of a survivor getting cocky tbagging at an exit gate. he is helping his team.
not very well but he was

I mean you shouldn't have even gotten the unhook if you got grabbed tbh. The amount of times I've seen this happen is truly baffling.

these standoffs on the hook are not a good game mechanic.
just the fact that the camera is constantly being jerked around when you're hanging on the hook and someone is trying to unhook you is more than annoying and is often exploited by toxic players.

i actually did that before as the killer, definitely some client lag issues
