How to counter Spirit with good Headphones on open Maps?
How to counter Spirits (especially on open maps like Coldwind farm) when they have good Headphones now since "Iron Will" isn't a thing anymore and "Stidor" got buffed?
Help me understand this timeline:
- they nerfed Stridor, because Stridor made Spirits unfair to play against (they can hear your exact location while having hyper speed)
- now they nerfed Iron Will (indirectly buffed Stridor again) not because Iron Will was too strong but just to shake up the meta (just because they don't like that it's used so often).
- now the previous Spirit problem is back again
- Don't now man, her wins feel kinda cheap and free. Free kills with no effort (the reason why it's not even fun to play her / against her).

Off the Record is my best friend, tbh. 80 seconds of old Iron Will off each hook isn't bad.
I still think Spirit is in a better spot now than she was with old IW and old Stridor, because that was pre-nerf Spirit and she's not quite the titan she used to be. Most of my issues with her were the standing still mindgame and the fact that she had way more information on what you were doing than you had on what she was doing. The directional sound cue makes it easier to slam a pallet on her or vault when you hear her coming around your side of the wall, even if she's fast and knows where you are. In the open, yeah, you're screwed, but the same is true of a bunch of different killers and that's nothing new.
MDR/Cherry Blossom is still busted as hell, though.

Even if old ironwill was still in the game dcb completely counters it. You can play spirit without headphones with that add-on.

Disclaimer: Mother Daughter Ring and Dried Cherry Blossom are way too strong and need to be changed. But otherwise, Spirit still has counterplay.
Iron Will WAS too strong. Survivors got way too used to it and never learned how to counter Spirit without it.
Obviously against her you are at even more of a disadvantage while injured than against most other killers but you can still counter her, just don’t expect to survive if you’re caught out in the open. Use the directional phase sound to figure out roughly where she is and keep in mind shorter loops are generally in her favor because they make it easier for her to use a short phase to catch you. Beyond that, be unpredictable and try to stick to safer areas when possible. She’s fast and will know where you are if you’re injured nearby but you have enough time to react to her. Don’t act the same way every single time she phases or she’ll start to pick up on that and react accordingly. Be mindful of walking through grass or corn because that gives away your location if she sees it (and a good Spirit will).
Also side note but I don’t recommend using Stridor on her at all, it will just throw off your sound perception so you’ll have trouble playing her without it later on. Survivors will often sound closer to you than they actually are.

Technically if they want to shake up the meta it shouldn't be a thing that a perk is the only counter. Wouldn't even say perks in generel are counters. Off the record even only works after getting unhooked, so no counter while not being freshly unhooked?
