Is Camping Still Prevalent?

The last time I rolled around to playing some DbD I got camped every other match- if not more.

Has camping been punished yet somehow or should I keep avoiding the game?

3/3 killers I played against tonight camped, so yep, definitely still a thing.

They added reassurance as an anti-camping perk but it's ultimately ineffective, unless you are in a swf and you stack 3 of it.

But even if you can maximise the value of reassurance, gens take 10 seconds longer and killers have deadlock to help them camp. So yeah camping is still a very effective thing unfortunately.

Still a thing. Tunneling was addressed, and even buffed from the initial changes they made to basekit BT, but camping is still around to a degree.

Way to fix reassurance and make it the anti camping perk that it always was meant to be: increase its range to 10m and give it three charges for the entire match. You could blow all charges on the same survivor or spread them out, but there is a hard limit by which you can extent hooks.

    Donel.

Hrm. Yep, I'm not buying a character to make camping less of a grievance. Especially if the perk doesn't even help that much. I'll be back in like six months I guess.

I heard they were gonna add BT to basekit. You're dead on with tunneling and not camping. You'll still trade, and since everyone always has it now killers can probably still just wait it out. Maybe if BT effected both the survivor unhooking and the survivor being hooked. Probably would be strong on the survivors end, but... jeez, whatever makes the game more active than 'look deeply into the killers eyes like you're goin in for a kiss for 10 minutes and then go back to the queue'.

Yeah I have played 50 survivor games in the last two months, I have been Proxy camped by 4 huntresses, full camped by one demo and hard tunneled by one ghost face. It's not as bad as people make it out to be.

You can pretty much always get to safety with current bt, 10% speed boost plus 10 seconds of immunity will let you get somewhere. Unless everything in that 4th of the map has been thrown, but by then it has to be late game or someone trolled.

It's not straight up facecamping because most Killers are somewhat wary of Reassurance, but 9 out of 10 Killers will proxy and hover around until the unhook at which point its tunnel town baby! I'm starting to see DS more and more often funnily enough.

No Camping is still strong cause Survivors do not rush Gens when a person is camped,

Instead, Survivors crouch near the face camped hoping to get the unhook, or run straight there and get downed too.

I don't really see killers camping very much in my games, personally speaking. It's still a stronger strat than it should be, but I don't know so much about it being prevalent, I think that depends on a lot of factors like region, MMR, time of day, how the mystical rat that governs matchmaking feels, etc etc.

Personally speaking, though, I don't see much of it. A little bit more tunnelling, but the basekit measures they added for that help a lot there.

Had a bubba this weekend who camped his first hook. The rest of us (with Reassurance and Prove Thyself) finished the gens and let him have his 1k.

I didn't know you knew about Kevin!
