Getting Back Into DBD After Long Break

I've been slowly getting back into DBD after not playing consistently for almost 2 years. Last time I made a post on these forums was last year when I played a few games trying to get Adept Achievements following a prior year long hiatus. Here's my thoughts as a returning DBD boomer:

The game is still as frustrating as I remember, both survivor and killer. My chases don't last as long as they use to as survivor and as killer I get juked and miss my swings a lot. Granted, I'm still rusty, don't know the meta, and don't have the desire to grind this game like before.

Crossplay was a mistake. There's a huge skill gap between PC killers and Console players to the point where I can tell what platform someone's on before I even see the scoreboard. If I can lead the killer on a decent chase, it's guaranteed to be a fellow console player. I know I can turn off crossplay but in exchange that kills the queue times, so not feasible.

It isn't pure negativity though, some good changes were made since I left. The Forever Freddy meta is gone, thank goodness. The old Borrowed Time effect being default when someone is unhooked is great change. Many of the old meta perks have been nerfed and a lot of the niche perks have been buffed which I like a lot. The survivor build I've been running is Iron Will, Boon: Circle of Healing, We'll Make It, and Botany Knowledge. Not practical at all, but those heal times are pretty spicy. It's also much easier to accumulate Bloodpoints now. They removed the 8000 point cap in each category and reduced costs in the Bloodweb.

That's all. Any tips for an outdated DBD player are welcome. I probably won't get as invested into DBD as I once did, but I'll be staying for a while since none of my friends want to play ESO, R6 Siege is overrun with cheaters, MWII didn't meet my expectations, BF2042 catastrophically failed, Halo Infinite has no content, R6 Extraction died, and Cyberpunk still doesn't work on my Xbox.
