    Coldwind, RPD, GoJ.

Coldwind- I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with these maps, like I do ok on them but not great. But my two biggest gripes with this map is that there are too many variants of it, all of which have elements that make them too strong, ranging from safe loops, to god pallets and corn blindness etc. My second gripe is that goddamned ######### harvester. I hate that thing with a ######### passion, the fact that survivors can wait you out on the haybales is just disgusting. Like either waste time trying to hit them, while they just sit on top of the haybales completely immune to your M1 damage or drop chase and go for someone else while they run back to the nearby generator and complete it with impunity.

Seriously, why can't survivors be hit while they're on the bales? It's way too strong and way too safe, I have seen survivors make a beeline for the harvester the moment they even hear the terror radius and just stay on the haybales. So for the love of all that is holy, please, just please at least make it so survivors can get hit if they're arrogant enough to sit on the bales, build ramps so the killer can loop properly, remove one side of the harvester so it's not a figure of eight loop or better yet, remove the haybales. I know it's been changed several times, but IMHO it's still stupidly strong.

RPD - Is just too much of a maze for my liking, I get lost as a survivor or killer so easily on that map that it's not funny. Aesthetically, it's a nice map. Very loyal to the design of RE3, but as a map for a game like DbD it's just too survivor sided. imho

GoJ - What can I say that others haven't said? Too many pallets, too many safe windows, too many jungle gyms that form infinite loops with each other, bullshit hitboxes that killers get stuck on. Anyway, to make the point finer, I'll leave this clip from Otz to explain the stupidity of GoJ. https://youtu.be/s3Lt2Ku2h2w

    Garden of Joy

Caught on literally any random object and tile spawns can be too much to deal with or too barren. The center house is okay but needs more windows blocked off at random. The surrounding areas should have some adjustments to how they can spawn.

    Swamp just for being swamp.

Garden of misery. I'm honestly shocked how little I've seen this pile of **** map mentioned. Every tile is safe. Every object has a weird hitbox and every single generator is in a spot that gives survivors multiple escape routes no matter how many pallets have been broken.

Eyrie of crows. Same as Garden of misery but slightly more bearable as long as I'm not playing Trapper or a stealth killer.

Badham preschool. Double pallets. A basement that is either the strongest basement possible for killer or gives them one of the easiest you can't hook me spots in the game and either way it's a god loop where even a baby survivor can survive far beyond their skill level.

Gideon meat packing plant. Self explanatory.

Honourable mentions to Gas hell, Haddonfail rework, Fractured cowshit (all coldwind for that matter but especially that one) and swamp maps but swamp just sucks period not just for killer.

Garden of Hell is literally the most painful experience these days. That map is a quick way for me to sweat

I feel ya, but I want to mention, that the Harvesters have some tricks to them. Most survivors will jump to the right haybale, as its the saver one with more options for them, but as the killer you have several options here. You can either move from the ramp and just barely land on the haybale, which leaves the survivor not enough time to vault back onto the harvester without getting hit or jumping down unless they have balanced landing. Or you can just stand there, letting your red light shine and bank on the survivor vaulting early, surprising them on their way back. Works surprisingly often and somehow most survivors seem to believe that the harvester haybale is perfectly safe, while it actually is a death trap.

I may have gotten carried away, but I was fresh out of an Onryo game where they just ran to that tile over and over again. I managed to get one the survivors while demanifested and ambushing them as they looped but ultimately lost the match because they were just running around the map like their IRL lives depended on them winning this match. I'm fairly certain they were a high MMR SWF, they were just too coordinated for them to be anything else. Anyway, off-topic rant aside. I'm just tired of seeing Survivors beelining for that ######### harvester before they even see me. I personally find it worse than the Cow Tree, which is just as annoying. I can normally manage the tile fine when I'm playing Trickster (my main) but when I'm trying out different killers for dailies or shits and giggles I find it frustrating and can't help but wonder why it's still allowed to be that strong.

Double anyway, thanks for the tip. I'll have to keep it in mind the next time I get sent to Coldwind and practise it a few times. :)

I just got out of an RPD match where I basically bullied a Pig for the entire game. I wasn't even playing that well, the map just made it impossible for them to actually GET me. I also could NOT find a generator unless I used Bond to find someone already working on one.

I still hate it, both for survivor and killer.

I hope I never see that map again.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who gets lost on RPD, as both survivor and killer. XD

BUDDY, RPD being a bad map is a hill I will fight on, die on, and you can bury me right on the top. My headstone will read "Nope, it still sucks".

Nowadays I have no problems finding the gens as I know them by heart. Same goes for the general layout and I just very, very rarely get lost, BUT this map expertise was bought with endless frustration and manly tears, either by being send their by abusive bully squads who just wanted to torment me, or by myself, grinding down the escapes for Outbreak Breakout. Datum am I glad that that's finally over, even though I don't really feel joy, just ... emptiness. So in short, RPD does get better, but actually it doesn't.

The way I see it, I COULD learn to twist my dudely dude bits an entire 360 degrees to where it doesn't hurt anymore, but nah, I don't think I will.

    Same thought process.

Lerys, Coldwind, and Garden of Joy are so unfun. Garden of Joy because of the autoaim always seems to think bushes are people..

*prepares shovel and matching headstone* Mate, I'll join you on that hill.

Like I get the concept of "practice makes perfect" but there's just something about RPD (and Midwitch) that just gives "lost" a whole new meaning.

It depends on the killer I'm playing, like I hate eyrie/Garden specially as Trapper or outdoor as Stealth killers.

But overall i dislike maps that are too big, i feel like I spend more time walking from A to B than chasing.

  • Well there’s the obvious ones like Gideon’s, Haddonfield, Cowshed, and so on, but a map that I absolutely despise that no one else seems to have an issue with is Gas Heaven. The main building on that map is so small and yet so incredibly safe with two pallets inside, a god window with a mandatory breakable wall, and two or three pallets immediately outside; the car walls are absolutely awful to play around and make walking around the map an entire Bethesda side quest; the map is usually incredibly pallet-dense in my experience—it is an all-around awful map for killer.

In a similar vein, I really like Wreckers’ Yard, and yet despite the fact that I think that map is actually decently well-balanced and fun to play on, some of my worst and most tilting killer games are on that map. I don’t really know why.

    as killer

the game! to many pallets and most can't be mind game.

    as survivor

Shelterwood! endless amount of dead zones

i actually wanna talk about the most balance map in my opinion. This map can help low tier killers and disadvantage a few of the top ones.

    Pale rose- swamp map

A good amount of safe to unsafe pallets. Plenty of camouflage for stealth killers to thrive like Myers, ghost face, and pig. Great map for well hidden traps (hag and trapper). Decent for range killers like trickster, hunters, etc because of the lack of walls to hide behind and somewhat open field. it plenty stuff on the map to get caught up on also...which can hindered top tier killers like oni with his power, wesker and blight. Wraith, doctor, You name it they all got a fair chance on this map. And most importantly to me! as a survivor main the map actually reward good stealth. (Unlike the corn maps where u can flat out disappear by just holding W) Most of the gens are in the field with plenty of good spots around them to stake out and blend in with. Less holding W and more tactical plays.

I'm too lazy to edit my older comment, but as of today (three DDS back-to-back OML KMN), I'm really starting to get very annoyed with Dead Dawg Saloon. Especially all the gens that spawn on the upper levels of the buildings, like they're not overly strong perse. However, they are a little too "safe". Too many exits for survivors and the Saloon itself feels incredibly strong. Not to mention the gates spawn too close together and the hooks are too far away from each other. I know people say it's a killer-sided map, and in some aspects, I'd have to agree, but I have to call a bit of BS on other things. Maybe I'm just unlucky, and just get really good survivors when I get taken to the map through RNG (it's never an offering) but I am never in for a good game on that map.

The Game. Other maps I really don't care at all, but the pallet spawn in The Game is simply too much. Having a god pallet every 5 meters is not balanced and turns the match into hell for the poor helpless killer.

For me My most hated maps are Garden Of Joy or Garden Of Pain as some called it. I can't stand playing on Garden of Joy. It's way to survivor sided and way to many bushes. What I meant by survivor sided is that the map is way too big. It has way to many god loops and god like windows especially on the house. I mean usually I can handle maps like that but lately this map has been getting on my nerves.

I feel that they really need to tone the god loop areas not just Garden Joy but also I feel Garden Of Joy aka Garden of Pain ruined the Macmillan Maps too and others. The reason I bring Macmillan maps up is because at first I always really like them since they were the most balanced. But again map like the Garden need a massive rework. I feel lately these new maps and reworks aren't very balance at all. I'm sorry for the rant but I would really like to them try to rework the maps again so that they aren't abused or are in the survivor's favor all that much.

If I had to pick JUST one, it would definitely be Garden of Joy(pain). The amount of safety survivors have between pallets, and the house windows, is unreal. Another incredibly frustrating aspect of the map is the bush hit boxes. Bubba is my favorite killer, and I am quite good with him. On Garden of Joy however, I will still randomly tantrum due to the damn bushes. I've actually instantly tantrumed before off of a bush. I was moving straight chasing a survivor holding W, and when the rev completed the tantrum started immediately. I turned and there was the bush directly on my left, completely out of my FoV. It's not just Bubba either. I've had other things bounce off the bushes too that had clear shots past them; such as Huntress hatchets, Pinhead chains, etc.

The other map that I really do not favor is Ormond. The map is huge, and incredibly safe for survivors to spread out and run the killer. The main building can be incredibly frustrating sometimes too.

Haddonfield, Game, and RPD are a toss up, and largely depend on the killer. I've recently been having good matches on the Game and RPD.

Cleary the Game worst Map in the Game

Also Eyre of Crow, Red Forest , Haddonfield and Garden of Pain are also awful to Play as Killer
