So penalty is disabled?
the first 2 quit the moment they got downed by ghostface, like early on on the start. i had like 0 reason to play further on 5 gens 2v1. So i decided to run at him and sacrifice myself, well we then got into farming some pallets and after we had maxed out he searchd mikaela.. surprise surprise, she quit too. At least she didnt quit from the start. He then gave me hatch.
I could still not complete my challenge, its so annoying like.. WAY to many quitters even pre release. (last weekend saturday evening litteraly 7 games where at least 1 person quit.) Now the penaltys are gone right?
how to enjoy the new update without penaltys? hell, at this point i even want an increase!

The first DC of the day is only 1 min ban. It happened to me when I had bad internet as killer so I quit, went to the lobby and saw only 50 seconds penalty. That's what it is

My friend figured that out after a Nurse with 4 slowdowns took us to Dead Dawg.

that has nothing to do with bad internet. Suddenly the connection gets worse when the killer finds them? i would get if it would load for eternety because 1 or 2 players cant seem to connect, but shortly after the start of the match -> i see felix getting the red exposed circle on his icon from Ghostface stalk and boom, first DC. second shortly after.

Nope, still up. People are experiencing a lot of technical difficulties with the new update though, so not every single DC is a ragequit.

As far as I know they are still there, I think it may be technical problems more than simple DCs, patches tend to screw the game and it wouldnt be the first time they have to turn them off after a patch because patch related game crashes.
And I bet he suffered way less waiting the penalty than playing that match.

Interesting, I had to DC this afternoon because my daughter woke up from her nap (she's 9 months old) and I didn't get any penalty.
Maybe it was a one off, and I'm not going to test it as it's unfair for the other survivors.

It's only a minute for the first DC.
If you play on Xbox One, PS4 or the Switch your loading screens will probably take longer than your penalty.

i mean i cant play for my fun if people keep ruining lobbys with their DCs. So what is your reasoning here? if you dont like loosing against other players in a video game, stop playing pvp games. Its the same salty mindset of "but you didnt follow my rulebook, now its unfun for me" yeah like is it only fun when you win? without a penalty this game would litteraly be unplayable cause all feel so entitled to their fun instead of just sticking it up, shut it up and play through it, and go on with the next game.
without BM in chat, without temper tantrum DCs without crying. Its a game. And yes i obviously paied money to watch DC simulator right now.

I'm on PS5 and it was instant. There's no chance the minute was up from the moment I DC'd to being back in the lobby.
I imagine it was a one off glitch as others have said it is definitely still active. Just seems odd considering the amount of DC's since the update.

it goes hand in hand with my mindset. You think i enjoy every single round i play? you think i dont get salty and sometimes happen to scream at my screen or something? hell no XD
but at least i dont bother people over playing the way they want and i certainly dont DC just because its "bruh this killer" so i screw not only the killers round but also the other 3. Idk why this seems to be so difficult for most dbd players.

Ok, but here's the disconnect:
People in both roles intentionally load up stacked to the high heavens, with no regard to the fun of the other side. People who DC also do it with no regard to anyone's fun. It's the same mentality. Fun either matters or it doesn't - it can't be cherry-picked for one argument but not the other.
There are valid reasons for the DC penalty - "fun" is not one of them and never has been.

Did BHVR fix the issue of the cursor popping up during a match and disabling the ability to move the character? Because if not, DC penalties should be off. It happened to my friend three times in a row yesterday. The first two times he was stuck (we refuse to take the penalty if we can help it, we save that for actual game crashes) in the match until finally he was killed (killers, if you see an AFK survivor, they might be having technical difficulties, don't be a jerk about it, the problem doesn't fix itself so be nice and kill them quickly). The third time I noticed the cursor pop up on the loading screen and told him to close the game.

This is one of the reasons why I like having bots now. There's no one to throw a fit over being downed first and disconnecting. Maybe through further tweaking the bots can replace players that quit, because it's better than nothing.

When I was playing on playstation 5 last night, the penalty was disabled. I think it was because of the mouse curser issue that exclusively effecting ps5 users. It keeps players from even moving their characters at all, and the only option is to DC

I see the point you’re trying to make but it doesn’t quite work. Assuming everyone is always playing their best load outs possible is heavily skewed in the killer’s defense. 90% of games are solos or 2 man swfs so the odds of all survivors stacking their load out are very low. Matchmaking is well known to be awful as well so again, 90% of games are poorly match made vs solos. If the killer stacked his build it’s even worse. So my point in regard to yours… The killer stacks his build and it ruins the game for all survivors. Survivors can only stack their team 5% of the time. So our feelings may be the same… we dont care about the other sides fun, but only the killer has the ability to consistently ruin games for the other side by stacking their build. So it’s pretty understandable that mostly survivors DC because they get tired of the stacked builds, OP killers and bad matchmaking.

I am playing with a friend on PS4. 2 games back to back were bugged for him (he couldn't move, only the cursor)
We had to DC
I'm not saying this is the case here (probably not) but just keep in mind some console players are not even able to play the game.

The problem with this view point to me is that stacking up to high heavens can be seen as fundamentally encouraged to try to score a win, which can be seen as fun in a certain way to people who strive to win (or to at least be in a dominant position). DCing is never a way to have fun for the user and can be seen as taking away fun from both friend and foe.

yeah and then they can "fix" every other killer until survivors could aswell just play against bots, and peeps would STILL quit because they dont like the look of the grass in the map they got loaded into.

Are you on PC? Cause those that quit early could easily have been on PlayStation and loaded in to a cursor on screen which means they couldn’t move their character. Once downed there isn’t much to stay in for is there? It’s happening 3 out of 5 games for me (PS5) so I’ve stopped playing, But some are still trying.
