So why doesn't Jolt have synergy with other perks?
So it doesn't work with Distressing or other TR increasing perks and now this? Maybe they ought to change No Where to Hide's perk description if that's the case.
Gonna test if Pain Resonance works with No Where To HIde, will find it odd if it doesn't.

Nowhere to hide has specifically “damaging” a generator meaning to kick it so that means perks that regress gens without kicking don’t work

Cause they capped it... it's in the description
But Surveillance works well with Jolt

I mean...Do you want Surge, a already solid gen-regression perk on it's own, to also apply Call of Brine and Eruption AND work with Distressing to trigger regression across the map? I think the perk's fine as it is honestly

Perks have never procc'ed other perks. Oppression doesn't inflict Call Of Brine or Overcharge on three gens, neither does Pain Res, it's just how perks work...

"Damaging" as terminology is not limited to kicking though. The same term is used for challenges that involve gens and Jolt works fine on those.
Edit: Please note that I don't think Jolt should work with Nowhere to Hide. That would be a bit on the busted side. I'd just like better wording.

Challenge terminology seems a bit different. In regards to perks “damage” always specifically means kicks while “regressing” just means any regressing gens (Like surveillance for example)

So damaging and explode are different generator mechanics wise then, they still ought to change the wording to kick. XD

They could simply add in 'Directly' before 'damaging' and it would be fine. This would exclude the use of perks and now powers considering the Knight, as proxies that aren't valid.

They really should tbh but since some killer technically don’t kick gens and the actual action being called damage in game it makes sense to say that

...or just say kick.

As someone else mentioned, not all killers 'kick' the gen, some punch, or slash, or slap it.
