Why the obsession with this killer?
Every single match is a Wesker running Eruption and all the other crutch perks. I can't bear it anymore.
Can someone explain why people is so obsessed with this boring killer?

He's a licensed character (so built in popularity) who is actually pretty strong and still relatively new. The knockout combo for a character to be extremely popular.

He is fun, good in chase, and has pretty okay anti-looping and has slowdown on survivors (the virus). You can play him in a fun way and still win, instead of being forced to tunnel/camp 😍

BHVR released Sadako, Dredge, Wesker and Knight in 2022.
If u take a look at these 4, Wesker is BY FAR the best killer out of them.
The others are weak and / or boring.

Yeah, he is very fun to many of us and the other 3 killers (already mentioned by Marik) "recently" released don't help (i don't hate them btw, but I can understand why they aren't as popular)

The moment you launch someone forty feet into a tree you'll join the club.

He probably has the best effort to reward ratio in the game.
Once you hit someone with a bound attack, they get infected which means they get slowed down and you get killer instinct on them later.
His power is also somewhat useful at countering the infamous "hold W" strat.
He is just very appealing to play.

I love playing Wesker with Brutal Strength, Bamboozle, Fire Up, and Superior Anatomy with the chalice and lion medalion add-ons. Makes me feel super human.
Overall though, he is very fun to play as and against imo. The chases are very fun for both sides as it is very interactive due to the fact that his power is strong but not oppressive. He somewhat has slowdown with the sprays, but it needs to be earned by hitting survivors with the power.

Eh personally I'd say Dredge is pretty good and fun to play, but I agree when it comes to Sadako and Knight

Like Pulsar said, he's one of the few recent killers who are fun AND strong. So people play him. There's no correlation between him and meta perks though. Killers just run those.

He's really strong, easier to play than Nurse and Blight and is over all dumb fun. He's actually a killer I feel comfortable running less slow down on because of how good he is.
As someone who mostly plays survivor, I never complain when it's a Wesker. Sometimes the matches with him can be a tad dull, but only sometimes.

Yikes, wesker has a lot of counterplay during chase, if you think he is somehow similar to nurse in chase you have to be trolling.

I get seeing a killer all the time can make him feel boring and to some degree I agree - Personally it had probably been a good year or so since I had as much fun as survivor since Wesker was added. I wish they'd design more killers like him - he's strong without addons and fun and interactive.
Realistically before Wesker I feel the last killer I enjoyed versing when they were new was Blight and before that Deathslinger and before that Oni and Ghostface. Just in general I would love more killers that are a bit more engaging so we could actually get more variety in picks. A lot of their killer designs lately is mostly hold W to get to next tile which sucks the fun out of playing survivor for me personally.

Wesker goes zoom zoom, yeet the survivors, has voice lines, has good but not OP addons and his kit allows for multiple styles of gameplay. He is also great with a majority of perks, meta or not.
