Labor of Love? Are you serious?

You want us to vote for you for the "Labor of Love" thing and yet there's so many issues and new issues keep cropping up.

The most recent one I've been running into religiously is spots where survivors can run through, but killers can't. Creating near infinite loops because these spots also create line of sight breaks long enough to end chases and prevent bloodlust even starting. Its ridiculous and shows that you actually don't provide love for this game and instead throw random stuff into it and seeing how it works.

I don't know what garbage spaghetti code you added in this chapter, but fix that ######### so that maps like Crotus Pen Asylum and the swamp maps, the two most common offenders, stop doing this.

They were on a decent streak for the last 3 chapters. They really dropped the ball here though sadly

I am quit happy with the last few chapters.

Dredge and Mastermind, as well as their survivors and the perks were good. I especially enjoy Dredge with his mobility and as an opponent, while Wesker is just iconic and cool to have.

The sound design, the music, the animation are all dope. Even Onryo was well done from that point and is just a bit on the weaker side as a Killer.

Tombs are fine, the events this year are fun to play and reward tons of cosmetics and the free Rift for this tomb is nice as well (Artists skin is pretty neat).

The Knight is actually a great concept and was very ambicious. Maybe a bit rushed in the execution and he should have been on the PTB for longer and receive more fixes but bugs are supposed to happen when you create such a Killer.

Also notice how the issues are with coding and not with the other departments?

As such I think that there is quit some love put into these things. Most of them feel good and people are always complaining about the bad things, while neglecting the good stuff.

You can call for a vote.

Whether we vote for it is another story.

Still, many will vote. It is a great game.

I would never vote for them just based on principle, I was treated very unfairly by a mod on the Steam discussions and I tend to hold grudges lol.

Though DBD is the game I played the most of any game and I had some great times on this game... I could not in good conscience vote for them.

They're bound to offer the vote, despite the controversial changes and content they created this year.

I do believe that a lot of love goes into DbD, they've clearly made efforts to listen to the community this year and adress a lot of old issues. It's a work in progress, and a complicated one at that.

However, it's true that not only it comes at an awkward time, there are also strong contenders out for this award as well.

It'd be hard for me to vote for DbD, that can often be infuriating for a lot of reasons inside and outside the game, when another game I've loved for years, DST, with its frequent character refreshes, and good management of pvp vs solo enjoyment, is also aiming for that award... ^^"

Idk some past years I would have been like yeah BHVR haven't earned it but this year? We got a ton a of good changes this year, meta shakeup, basekit BT, killer basekit changes, incoming changes to slugging, bots, hopefully changes to soloQ soon. You may not agree with every change but BHVR is trying to change the game for the better I think. Like I get complaining is fun but compare where we are now to where we were 2 years ago and this game is infinitely better at this moment.

I have never understood this anger. Of course DBD deserves to be nominated for this award, it's been consistently updated for six years and its developers clearly care about it.

I certainly understand not wanting to vote for it if you aren't happy with the changes being made, but incredulously repeating the phrase "labour of love" makes no sense because... yeah. It is. That part isn't incorrect.

Yes, they do care about it. But certainly not in a way to be considered even slightly for the Labor of Love award.

If BHVR clearly cared about DbD and were passionate about making it great, an actual labor of love, then hacking would have been addressed years ago not just recently put on a roadmap after having their hands forced by top Fog Whisperers. Also they would have made QoL a priority and not an afterthought. Doing bloodwebs and finding perks is painful because the UI is still stuck in 2017. DbD is clearly on the back burner while they work on other projects like Meet Your Maker.

That's why some players can get angry about it, because for them it is plain as day and they feel like they love DbD more than the developers do.

Then don't vote for it, if you don't think the quality warrants it.

That doesn't translate to it somehow being disqualified even though it clearly meets the criteria for being nominated.

I disagree. DbD would be a contender for an anti-labor of love award to be completely honest.

Looking at the list of award nominees I don't see DbD there. Good.

For me personally dbd can never win this because terraria won it and I doubt that bhvr will ever go up to these standards

The care of the game is like the care of the only cow farmer that keep milking its only old ,ill cow to get money.Thats not caring.
