Does the Entity have plans for the Oni?

I've seen the Oni mentioned multiple times in certain bits of lore. For example: Rebecca's story has this at the end of it.
There's also the halloween tome scenes from this year as well.
It seems like he's being used as an enforcer? It seems like portals are being opened in other dimensions for the Entity to invade. You can see Oni start to melt when the device is broken and he looks horrified that he failed. I wonder what's to come.
