This company is greedy

Not only does it take over 10 dlcs to play this game fully and have access to every perk (this is laughable by the way, games shouldn't be made like this in the first place, you're already paying for the base game but if you want to be able to use every perk in the game you'd have to buy every licensed character for both killer and survivor) but it costs the price of a full indie game to buy a single skin. Granted some skins are less than others but why would a cosmetic costs 15 dollars? Seriously, why? Rven worse now they are adding a time constraint to make players feel pressure to buy the skins or never see them again even skins that have been available all year round may now be restricted to seasonal events to get them. How does that help the player in any way? It doesn't. You can't tell me this company is hurting for money. They consider it a better way to spend their time by creating new cosmetics rather than fix the large amount of bugs and balance issues. They would rather rush to put out the next licensed killer and introduce any number of bugs or not even care if the killer is balanced rather than just fixing issues they already have or play testing them correctly. I understand lately they have done good things but WHY are you so greedy? Why are you using scummier and scummier tactics to make more money? Even the stuff with the NFTs. Nearly everyone who plays this game said they would NOT want anything to do with those yet you went ahead and did whatever anyway. Do you really think a cosmetic should be 15 dollars? Can you justify that in any rational way? I understand that free to play games need to make money somehow but we already bought your game, we already paid for every single character that comes out and yet you still beed to make cosmetics insanely expensive. This just shows you don't care about your playerbase you just want money.

    First of all: line breaks.

Second: all companies are greedy, some are just better at hiding it than others.

I don’t know that I agree with all this, but I do agree that the price of full outfit cosmetics is a bit much…if someone were to buy all the ones that just got released before they leave the 4th, it’d be what…50-60?

I bought all the survivor ones…but, I had some auric cells I hadn’t spent so 🤷🏻‍♀️

What price do you all think would be more fair? Like 5$ per outfit? Broken up pieces stay the same price as they are now? I think that would be reasonable. Maybe people would be less upset about the LT cosmetics, if they were more affordable?

I honestly don't get complains about totally optional and voluntary purchases. I think the cosmetics are too expensive and you don't need them so I stopped buying them (I have purchased many in the past though).

I don't understand FOMO with regards to cosmetics either, these are not necessary items at all.

I see you can buy many killers or survivors in bundles too and on sale they aren't too bad, you can of course earn the non licenced stuff just from playing and there are plenty of free cosmetics too.

They are a company that will continue to want to bring in revenue to keep investors happy. How much of your personal money you wish to put towards that is entirely on you and entirely voluntary.

I hate to say it but if enough people are buying the cosmetic for BHVR to get the desired return on their investment the price is justified. It's not an essential service and they are a business. They might make more money by lowering the cost and getting a higher volume but that's a different argument.

You don't have to buy every dlc. You can pick up most of the dlc characters with shards by playing the game. Sure that takes time, but all spending real world money does is allow you to obtain the characters faster.

License characters are a different story, because license characters can only be purchased with money. But licenses aren't cheap and you are still free to not buy any of them if you don't want to.

As for cosmetics, many cosmetics are still available for free purchase with shards. You don't have to spend money on cosmetics.

The company has been supporting the game for 6+ years now. Development costs money. If you think stuff is too expensive, then don't buy it. No one is forcing you to. People who enjoy the game and want to support the devs have the option to get some in game content with that money.

I guess the overwhelming majority of profit oriented enterprises and companies can be called greedy. I think there is a difference between being greedy and expecting customers to pay for products and services provided, but there is definitely a line somewhere.

Overall I don't perceive them to be remarkable in their marketing efforts, in either direction.

Perhaps your expectations are a bit unreasonable?

The expectations were: they asked us about such practices in a survey, it seemed the majority said no, and yet they did it anyway.

So yeah, there's a reason to complain beyond the greedy aspect: they confirmed they do not give any value to our feedback.

Makes sense. While I think they should be cheaper, I will keep buying them as priced now. So I guess there isn’t much reason to lower them…
