back after a over 2 months break - ######### is this?

Yeah i know that people said this numerous times but the game is in a bad state - i don't really know where to begin...

So i played numerous matches over the last week, but never more than 5 because it just gets tiring after those.

Survivor: i play solo or with a friend, and we're barely in a position where we have a chance. Killer has just so much pressure, some of the their perks are extremely frustrating (Eruption has no counterplay in a solo team because you can't call when you go down, the incapacitated status is too much).

The only times we won was when me or someone else carried with a very long chase. I generally think that this game has become so complicated for newbies or casual players (my friend has like 500h and he doesn't know every killer power details or perks), which creates a big gap between the "i live for dbd" guys and the "i play it occasionally and don't watch content" guys. And since there is no working matchmaking (it still feels kinda random, but this is also due to the games core with so many different unbalanced maps, items, perks...) you have to deal with that. I think something like a strict rank system would work better...

The thing is, there are certain things that work for survivors, i played comp for a while and if you have a good team you can easily beat most killers on most maps with the exception of good Nurses and Blights, without the need of being a god looper or playing with 4x4 meta perks. But the difference between solo and swf is still way too high, it always was but i feel SBMM has made it worse. Right now it just feels like a waste of time if i don't have a team i can regularly play together with. I don't why this is so low on the agenda. It's IMHO way more important than something like basekit UB (btw is this still on the table).

Killer: the funny thing is, my surv experience isn't replicable when i play killer, because i got absolute pro squads whenever i played and it doesn't even matter which killer i picked. I'm very good with Spirit, i played her in tourneys and it's fine when i get to play against very good squads with her. Anything else would be unfair. But honestly, i get destroyed with so many other killers that i have played maybe 10 times and it's just not fun anymore. I understand that i shouldn't start at zero MMR with them, but even after losing a lot, my games don't get better and i have to deal with 2-4 hook stage games incl. getting insulted in after game chat (i could just turn it off, this is a me-problem). Funnily, when i play Spirit i get average survivors that i destroy at 4/3 gens left...

The thing is, i could have avoided losing some of those games by playing like an absolute sweatlord, just tunneling the first hook out as soon as possible, and that's a big issue that this game's core win strategy still relies on something like this. I don't know why this problem hasn't been adressed on both sides, it makes games unfun for both sides and those band-aid fixes don't do that much honestly. Sweaty matches often just revolve around "is the killer getting the tunnel out early enough?", If not he usually gets demolished and if yes the survivors die at 2 gens left.

It feels like they know about those problems and keep the playerbase alive by pouring BP over you (honestly the amount of BP you get nowadays is insane, compared to 2 years ago). I also like the events and most of the new content from a visual standpoint. I really want to love this game and i dealt with all the ######### as long as i was addicted to it, but after that break i don't know if i still want to use my spare time for those experiences...

    Welcome back!

Survivors realized that the additional 10 seconds of gen time make absolutely no difference and killers realized that the all gen slowdown perks are trash now. Only Eruption seems to be decent.

So survivors focus gens like there is no tomorrow and killers try to get someone out asap in order to slowdown gens.

    SO

    MUCH

    FUN!

How about you play for fun and thereby get put into the proper MMR suitable for the playstyle you have fun with?

I mean you want to sweat. That's what you do and that's what you will get more of.

Game is easier than it has ever been, regardless of role.

There really needs to be a lot more significant of a difference in mmr between killers. I can go to a killer that I rarely have ever played and not even touched in over a year and I will still be playing against groups that’s are almost as good as my main killers mmr, that shouldn’t be a thing. They need almost entirely separate mmr’s between killers.

I took a long break and recently came back as well. Honestly it hasn't been too bad for me. Solo queue is not really better or worse from when I played last. Eruption is a pain and hopefully they'll nerf the incapacitated part soon. Otherwise it's been okay.

I haven't messed with killer in live servers much. I've been using the bots to get a feel for them back as well as get comfortable with ones I hadn't really previously touched. I highly recommend doing that with the killers you're struggling with.
