The Knight: Kinda Cruel, Kinda Calculating, Kinda Neat

I bought the Knight recently since i see very few people play him and wanted to see the mori for myself, and honestly, despite his reputation as kind of bad and a camping machine, i think he's pretty fun, and here's why

The Knight is a Tall 115% killer with the power Guardia Compagnia, pressing m2 will allow you to trace a patrol path, pressing m2 again will spawn a guard at the end of the path, the Guard spawned can be one of 3 people, The Carnifex, the Assassin, and the Jailor, with these 3 cycling between each other, you can know which Guard you will spawn by checking your shoulder as well as the power icon, Carnifex has a skull with spikes, Assassin has a knife, and Jailor has 2 keys in the shape of a X, each of the Guards does something unique, Carni breaks stuff faster then you can even if you have Brutal Strength, Assassin runs faster and applies Deep Wound if he hits someone, and Jailor has a larger patrol radius, letting him catch people a lot easier then the other 2, If the Guards spot a survivor, they'll trigger a Hunt, where they chase down the survivor until their gauge runs out (visible by checking the survivor icon), their AI is extremely basic, and they will follow the survivor's exact movements, no mind games, no baits, just running at them, after a Hunt has gone on for a while, a Banner will spawn, if the survivor reaches the banner, the guard will despawn and they will get a speed boost as well as Endurance, Guards also despawn if someone attempts to unhook a survivor during a hunt

Let me get this out of the way now so that I don't get 50 million comments about it. Yes, Knight and his Guards are very good at camping, even with Grace Under Fire being a thing, the fact that Patrols essentially act as a giant "do not go in this area or the killer will know you're there" radius, Knight can't quite camp as easily as Bubba can, but he is still very good at it, however, I very rarely use Guardia Compagnia for this, as I view it as a bit of waste of what Guardia Compagnia can do

Patrols are often seen as simply a "drop at pallet and get the survivor to leave" button, and while that use of the power is effective,, a lot of people seem to forget what "Patrol" means, Patrols allow you to defend gens while you're busy doing something else, break pallets and walls while you're busy doing something else, force survivors out into the open, find where survivors are since you can see Guard's auras, I said this with Trickster and i will say this again, the more creative and liberal you are with his power, the more rewarding and more fun the killer will be, the Guards can start chases, flush out survivors, force them to go to unsafe areas, save you time by letting you skip the wiping animation if they down somebody, start getting creative and Knight

Now for my thoughts on the 3 Guards, of the 3 i like Assassin the most, If a survivor is getting Hunted by him in a open field with nothing and i happen to be nearby, i let him hit them first, Deep Wounds mean that they don't get any Endurance effects, meaning that the survivor Assassin hit's is usually screwed, Jailor's my second favourite since he can help start chases a lot sooner thanks to his larger patrol radius, Carnifex is my least favourite of the 3, since his main benefit of breaking stuff doesn't come into play very often, still handy when it works, but not as effective as the other two

As for addons, i don't really mess with anything other then some of the basic browns and yellows, 3 addons are dedicated to letting you get two of each of the guards, which is definitely helpful if you prefer having more of your favourite Guard, but i don't really need anything more then the bare basics when Knight's basekit lets you be as creative as it already let's you be.

Is Knight perfect? No, far from it, his ability to camp is rivalled only by Bubba, and simply placing a Guard down at a loop is honestly kinda cheap, but his kit is, quite frankly, what Twins should have been, it's creative, satisfying to use when you are creative with it, kind of a bullying simulator with how easy it is to force survivors into a 2v1, and provides a ton of possibilities that, quite frankly, most people are ignoring. Here are a few changes i think would make Knight better

  1. Let the Guards synergise with the Knight's equipped perks, Carni synergises with perks that activate after kicking gens or pallets, Assassin synergises with perks that activate on a m1 hit or down, and Jailor synergises with aura revealing perks, this can encourage more build creativity since you'll be able to improve their abilities alongside yours
  2. Either let Knight see people while tracing a Patrol path, or don't let survivors see where you are tracing the Patrol path, either i should be allowed to see them, or they shouldn't be allowed to see me, i'd prefer the latter but i'll take either one
  3. Add a minimum range before you're allowed to place a guard to patrol, placing a guard at a pallet for anything other then breaking it is honestly kind of cheap, it's like Artist but somehow more disrespectful with how hard it punishes survivors for staying at loops
  4. Improve the AI, doesn't have to be anything cutting edge, just improve it so that they don't get stuck on things
  5. Let Patrols go across multiple floors, the game currently stops you from dropping down while tracing a path and quite frankly I don't like it, the Guards are ghosts that can go through walls, they sure as heck can float upwards

Finally, this is the build that I use

Eruption and Lethal are perks that i pretty much never take off, Infectious is good for finding people and is one of the few perks that works with the Guards, and Bamboozle is really good for boxing survivors in

Adding a minimum distance to summon a guard is horrible idea.

Also he is not good at camping. He is just bit better than avarage M1 Killer at doing it. There are way better killers at camping.
