Clarification on Adepts and ragequits

This past week it's happened at least four times that I can remember, three of those times I was going for an adept and was not awarded it.

I think that's a huge mistake that's just going to lead to nastiness and negative feelings - because, as anyone who's tried to do that sodding Myers achievement will attest, people will DC just to deny you, and it's not hard to notice when someone is doing an Adept.
It also essentially forces killers into a Catch 22. To prevent someone getting hatch, you'll almost certainly need to hard slug. But people tend to DC when you hard slug.
It's going to turn Adept into basically 'find the people who won't DC when you play mean' roulette.

I think survivors are much less attuned to individual killer perks than they are the Evil Incarnate achievement. When a player wants that, it’s pretty obvious. But it’s much less clear when a killer is using only their perks.

In 2018 (roughly around the Curtain Call chapter) you got the adept trophies for 4 kills even if it didn't say Merciless Victory at the end and that might have been a bug but it lasted some time. I would never have managed Adept Billy without every single surivor ragequitting back then.
Not counting DCs as kills feeds survivors the idea that, "If I DC the killer didn't beat me". DCs should never favour the quitter. Even if I might have been slighly face camping them.

Indeed, this seems to be somewhat of an oversight. I love to give the last survivor the hatch anyways, but if I am on my journey to Iri1, in the future I will have to just kill each and every one of them, slugs be damned. Sad, but true :P
Still, its a step in the right direction, so I am mostly happy about this change.

I guess the go to offering for Killer Adepts is going to be to spawn the hatch in Killer Shack and then get the last kill near it and camp it for hatch spawn. Then hope the gates are not halfway to New Jersey.

I mean the changes only matter for adept
You don't need to change anything about your playstyle if you aren't going for adept

No gen slowdown, much less a combination of them on many killer characters should already be part giveaway that the killer isn't playing like usual.

That's kind of the issue though. A lot of people, myself included, like to achievement hunt. And tbh I get way more frustrated when I can't get an objective done than in a normal game. Now giving survs the power to press a button and stop you getting it is a bad idea.
Because now it's based not just on your skill, but other survs 's connections, bad conduct and deliberate spitefullness.

I understand why we don't want to incentivize griefing the other team to make them D/C, but it's pretty miserable to try to do any kind of killer challenge that requires 4 survivors to stay in the game when so many people D/C.

Is it?
I find it pretty obvious, whether I'm playing killer or survivor. It's why I'll go out of my way to make sure someone doing an adept escapes.

That already was the case.
It's very rare to get double pips when a survivor DC's

A killer DCing counts as an escape, right? (I'm pretty sure it does as I've often benefited from it)
Any plan to put AI instead of a rage-quitter soon? (Assuming killing the AI would count as a kill)

I feel like that's a big that shouldn't happen. Cause I know I got adept Laurie cause Doctor dcd

Apparently killer DC inconsistently triggers adepts. And the bot back fill is a great idea. Gives killers the chance to still make it a kill and doesn't automatically throw the game for survs. Plus from my experience the bots are actually much better than a lot of the solo q players I've seen 🤣

Yes, they are.
