What is a baiter?

Recently I was in a game as a survivor and it was me and a meg left. We finished the last generator, and the killer went after her and downed her with NOED. It was her last hook, so there was zero point in saving her and I stumbled across the hatch. After she died, I escaped and in the end game chat she called me a baiter. I have a slight idea of what it is, but I don't know what I did that made me a "Baiter". Is it a good or bad thing? Can anyone explain what she possibly meant by that?

We're in the dark same as you, that term doesn’t fit at all. No clue what it meant.

Probably you were called out for finishing the gen and giving away the position/ activating NOED

Hmm, that makes a little more sense but I don't see why she was mad at me for it. We were both on it, and the killer hooked the 3rd person for the last time right next to us so we were in a huge hustle to finish. One of those "Now or never" moments. If she was that bent on NOED then she would've been doing totems or never been on that gen with me in the first place. Oh whale!

Yeeeah, thought it was a bit strange. Maybe she was just upset about getting caught and decided to take it out on a teammate by using a random term that could somehow apply?

Baiter in this case means “ I’m mad I got killed and you didn’t and even though there was absolutely nothing you could’ve done to help me it’s still your fault.” At least that’s what it says on SaltDictionary.com

No kidding, lol. I forgot to selflessly throw myself infront of the hook and get smacked down with her so we both suffer. Whoops!
