Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Why is there no fog?

If you look at Back 4 Blood or Evil Dead: The Game you can clearly see that there are fog in these games. Then you have Dead by Daylight with no fog even though they have what's called "The Dark Mist" or "The Black Fog".

You make your game look like it's an open battlefield with construction lights. Not a single horror aspect is to be found in this game. Dead by Daylight my ass.

In 2016 maps were foggy as hell.

  • Man, I miss Evil Dead. They added EAC back in July, and I haven't been able to play it since.

That game is probably the best of DBD's competitors. VHS is too goofy; doesn't feel like a horror game at all.

Got Back 4 Blood a month or two ago. Great game, but it doesn't quite have the soul that Left 4 Dead has. Still playing it compulsively nevertheless.

Both those games failed because people hate fog.

Because they are ENTIRELY different games

The game did have really dense fog back in the ol' days, but they got rid of it because the large majority of killer plays complained they couldnt see anything when an offering was played to increase the mist. Not only did it make hiding a lot easier as Survivor, but it made losing the killer a lot easier in the middle of chase since they could barely see anything.
