Is Tier 3 Myers Irrelevant?
The third tier of Evil Within, The Shape's Power, is an ability that puts Survivors into the Exposed status effect for a period of time determinant on base kit or your add-ons, typically between 60 to 90 seconds in most cases.
However, with the introduction of many Exposure perks, especially with The Knight's new perk, Hubris, it has to make you wonder something, is Tier 3 becoming irrelevant?
Here's how I can see it for being irrelevant:
- Perks such as Hubris, Make Your Choice, NOED, Haunted Ground, Dragon's Grip and Starstruck give you the ability to instantly down Survivors while still in Tier 2 of Evil Within, depending on the objective.
- Hubris, in particular, gives The Shape the ability to have 20 seconds of what is effectively his main Power state after being stunned by any means.
- Save the Best for Last, another extremely strong perk despite not being an Exposure Perk, can also be used to lower time to take down a Survivor.
- The combination of many perk and add-on builds, therefor, can easily just substitute for the third tier of Evil Within and potentially make The Shape better than he normally is.
- And with Exposure perks, you do not need to rely on having to stalk Survivors and wasting your time in trying to get to them. Instead, you can simply down them whenever the opportunity can arise.
- Additionally, since his vault speed is effectively 13% faster while in the second tier of Evil Within, he still has decent chasing potential while not having the full effects of his third tier's power.
- The Shape also does not have any notable change to his basekit if he's using Tier 3, aside from the vault speed increase and lunge attack increase.
But here's how I can see it being relevant:
- The Shape still gains a lunge attack duration and vault speed boost, which further increase his chase potential and still make him a significant threat.
- The Shape still gains access to his ability to Kill survivors while in Evil Within III with his add-ons.
- The duration of the Exposed status effect can be much longer than what the Perks provide; with one add-on giving him the ability to earn an Infinite exposure effect.
But I'd like to ask you guys this question.

No
why use perks to emulate your power when you can use perks to do other things like slowdown / info /other chase perks ?

Because it removes the need to reduce your efficiency as Killer. You do not slow down as much and will still have the ability to down Survivors when applicable.

Irrelevant? No. Underwhelming? Yes. I think they should remove the stalk limit per survivor, reward him more for far away stalks, and finally make t3 have a mini built in endurance and brutal strength.
