What good is Easy Anti-Cheat if it doesn't work?
Title. Had a match against a Myers who we thought was using Scratched Mirror with how easily he was tracking people and then he eventually hit Evil Within 2 and we thought 'Okay, not a Scratched Mirror Myers'. Then seconds after hitting EW2 he entered EW3 and the only addons he was running was the one that increased the EW gain from stalking the Obsession by 40% and I think the Mirror Shard.
While we can't prove he was cheating we all agreed that there was definitely something extremely suspect about what happened. So what good is an Anti-Cheat if it doesn't work?

I am not saying bhvr is doing a good job but no Anti-Cheat is perfect and has to be updated for all new back doors and loopholes again and again.
There will be no time when any game is 100% cheater free. It always an arms race.

The hackers seem to come in waves. People start seeing them more and more, then it's like a ban wave happens and no one really sees many for a few months until it starts again. I don't think they'll ever keep on top of them because hackers will just find their way around.

All I know is that it took him forever to hit Evil Within 2 and then he hit EW3 within seconds of that which isn't possible so far as I know.

The game is essentially p2p so it can't be protected against cheating.
Making server based would be expensive to maintain for bhvr, so they won't do it

Not really, depend how "lucky" you are and how bad survivor are. If you can stalk them or if they let you stalk them ( and trust me i have seen many just standing there doing nothing or t-bag you while you fill your evil bar ) it can be done pretty fast, then you stop at 99% and wait until you're ready to fire up T3 and slay everyone
That said yes, right now this game is the cheater land, almost every game has one suspicious player

I'm not even sure that's a cheat. If folks let you stalk at close range, you can pop fast.
But...okay. Let's say it is.
Here's the thing about cheating.
Big companies with massive, expensive, proprietary cheat detection software still have hacking epidemics. About the only games that tend to be free of this crap are almost entirely server based.
Hacking is a big money business. You can find a pretty evil hacking suite for any game you can name if you're willing to pay a few hundred bucks.
I'm not really sure what can be done about this. Because yeah, it sucks.

Think about it this way.
It's just THIS bad with anti-cheat, not even worse (whatever that could possibly be).

Hackers know how to bypass anti-cheats. From what I know it’s down through injection. Hackers sell software that injects itself into the game’s code, and the anti - cheat simply thinks it’s part of the game.

This is feasible. Without duration add-ons you can tier up very fast.

Yeah, no. He hit EW2 and then within seconds of EW2 he hit EW3. Everyone else in my SWF definitely agreed that while we couldn't prove he was cheating that there was something extremely suspicious about it given how long it took him to even get to EW2 and then to just immediately spring from EW2 to 3.

Having played a good bit of Mikey over the years, bear in mind that the rate at which Mikey 'juices' Survivors is not constant; if there is more than one survivor in his FOV, he will gain EW at a much faster rate than if there is just one in his FOV. In the case you mention, if one of the Survivors being stalked happened to be the Obsession, then you can add another 40% to that already accelerated rate. In a case like that, it is entirely possible that he could pop EW3 very quickly in at least some situations. It's why keeping LOS broken and keeping distance between Survivors whenever possible is important vs. Mikey. It's also why I always use 'Monitor And Abuse' in my Mikey build. ;)

No anti-cheat is flawless. It's an arms race between the anti-cheat folks and the people who make the cheats.
Every time any anti-cheat is updated, cheaters find new ways around it.
