How do you strugge while pierced by Deathslinger harpoon?

When I play Deathslinger and land a shot on survivor he manages to get to an obstacle and struggle almost breaking the chain but when I play against slinger and he shoots me I don't struggle at all I just go to him in a straight line.
What do I need to do?

Hasn't that been confirmed to do basically nothing to get them to you closer?

It doesn't reel them in faster, but reduces the amount of side-to-side sway tue survivor is able to produce.
