Am I the only one who thinks the new map sucks?

I forget its name, but it's the one that came with The Knight.

It's using basic map design, but cluttered with objects with no collision that just block your way in awkward angles, eye-straining lightning that contrast poorly with everything else.

I personally think it's awful. What do you guys think?

I just had the same thought today. This map's tiles feel very different to loop and are full of objects that you are forced to bump into at least once to know that they have collision. A good example is the shack which on this map, has 3 different objects that you can bump into.

When designing tiles they should go for objects with very clear boundaries. Examples of good objects: walls, boxes. Examples of bad objects: bushes (eg. Garden of Joy), piles of sand (on the new map) etc.

Gotta love the impassable piles of straw.

They have not released a good map since I started playing the game over a year and a half ago lol.

Can you ellaborate on why do you like it? Although you can agree that the tiles are oddly designed, right?

It looks like they hastly threw the map together without properly testing it.

Like whoever was in charge of designing the map simply checked a few boxes for the theme and called it a day. Everything else that makes traversing a map, both as survivor and killer feels especially odd, when compared to other maps, even ones like Eeryie with is getting a re-work anyway. This one needs it the most, because its flaws are sooo jarring.

In addition to the openness, red color, and immense amount of pallets many of which are jungle gyms/long walls, there’s long, burnt down structures with pallets or windows in them you can see the killer through. It’s like they didn’t learn their lesson from old Haddonfield.

Just feels like a big open space with a couple small buldings and a bunch of junk scattered about. It's a shame because a medieval-themed map could have had so much potential but it just looks like garbage and plays like garbage.

BHVR just can't make decent maps anymore, all of their more recent maps and reworked maps are pretty terrible; Eyrie of Crows, Garden of Joy, Borgo, New Haddonfield, even the reworked farm maps, I really dislike all of them.

The only one I (controversially perhaps) like is RPD, and BHVR just ripped that out of another game.

No, you're not. I hate it with a passion.

Yeah it's kinda bad gameplay wise. It's way too big and open, and you can get stuck on random objects littering the ground. Can't even walk over the small piles of straw by the loops, which makes 0 sense. Not to mention the intense red tint in the map, which can ruin gameplay because red is associated with important things in the game (usually as killer).

Is one of the most awful map in the game, also there's a HUGE problem with hooks, some zone are just without hooks, the closest one being a mile away

I think pretty much nobody likes that map. Random spikes in the ground messing up loops and a giant space to cross. I honestly can't understand how after all the complaints about giant maps they keep releasing these monstrosities.

The thing about it is, even the maps that aren't that good gameplay-wise still look pretty cool and thematic. Worst I can think of is the Game, and even that one has a lot of cool easter eggs and neat-looking locations. Eyrie and Garden both look gorgeous. The Borgo...is just stuff scattered around with a few ruined buildings. It feels the most generic.

For me, it's ugly and that's about it. I like that the maps are so different. It'd be boring if they were all the same. Some maps i do badly on, other maps I do well on. It's just luck of the draw.

Or without window, its pretty much a whole title but its just basic loops.

the map looks like it has 6 weaker variations of shack. But im glad that loops have grass. Just enough to set a bear trap on

Hate it. Collision issues are abundant, pallet texture with map design feels awkward to loop, too open and lack of los blocking, pallets are spawned weird and have too much or too little, and the overall color scheme is abysmal

I played Bubba on it against a SWF and it was a zero hook game with at least four more pallets up, not helped by Garden of Pain levels of collision on random clutter. Complete garbage.
