Survivor Tutorial is bugged and can't be completed

PC - in the Survivor Tutorial, right after Meg throws a pallet to stun the killer while he's carrying you, both Dwight and the Trapper freeze completely. It's also impossible to move the camera and look around. Meg runs away until she gets stuck in a trap herself.
Happened to a friend (PC, Steam) multiple times, I tried doing it myself (PC, Epic Games) and we both had this problem every time we tried it.
During some of these attempts the Trapper seemed buggy even earlier on, and he started hitting the car next to him while I was downed and getting the tutorial advice about wiggling.
