Is it so hard to add ping indicator in lobby?
There's so many posts mentioning killers with high ping are getting huge advantages, which is RUINING the game. Why devs just keep ignoring those?
I know you don't have the ability to fix the problem, I can understand. But adding a ping indicator in lobby shouldn't be that hard, right? Killers can see survivors' ping in lobby and in match, but not the other way around. Is that fair?
Killers can dodge SWF, but surviors can't dodge VPN killers, is that fair?
The truth is it is not hard to add ping indicator, it's just the devs don't want to. They can't fix the issue so they choose to hide it. Pretty good job so far!😅

There is a high ping indicator in the lobby, in the bottom right if the killer has high ping there is a red bar i think next to the ready button. Also during the match packet loss and high ping get shown in the hud directly for any player.
also, killers can’t dodge every kind of swf (crossplay and private profiles)

this is your personal ping indicator. it definitely doesn't show the ping from the killer at the moment. before switching to dedecated server, it displayed your ping to the killer because the killer was the host.
after the recent scott jund video about counter DH on pallets, i wonder if the developer even knows what it feels like when a killer has a high ping. scott mentioned that it's rare for someone to have a ping over 100, unless he uses a vpn service. killers have to play on European servers, which geographically cannot have a ping below 180ms. which is just ridiculous painfull for everyone.
playing against people with low ping feels completely different than when someone has a ping higher than 200.

Maybe its because we dont need Survivors and Killers dodging lobbies because the ping number isnt low enough for them.

This is probably the reasoning, and I doubt they'll ever put a max cap on it either.

haha, Why would they put a max cap on something that isnt enabled?

I don't think the minimum ping for Europe-to-Europe connections is 180ms. My ping from Scotland to a server in Italy (I just checked) is 44ms.
Even the UK to Armenia is < 100ms.

Bruh, Its already in the game.
Red Knife above survivors HUD = Killer ping bad
Red Diamond / Yellow Diamond = Your Ping / Packets bad
Red Bar at end of individual Survivor name = Individual Survivor Ping bad

did you know that players from africa also have to play on the european servers?
this is ingame and not in the lobby that everyone is talking about.

You didn't mention that in your post. You just said "Killers have to play on European servers".

It would make no difference. Game boots your connection for being over a certain threshold for too long. If the Killer is not going to be booted from a match in game, then their lobby ping wont make difference.
You can also self throttle your connection, and players who intentionally take advantage of their ping would just decrease how much throttle in lobby and turn it back up in game.
You want to fix the issue around VPN usage, then devs need to implement better security. VPNs are primarily used in this game to stop from being DDoS'd, because your individual IP is visible to everyone in the match. Its a huge security issue, that even Fog Whispers have spoken out about, risking their contracts, yet Behavior has done nothing to rectify it.

There used to be a ping meter in the lobby that gave your actual ping in ms, with a running update. This was great to let me know when I was being thrown into a lobby on another continent across an ocean for some messed up reason. They removed this last year when the population dropped so low that they had to start widening the geographical regions players could connect to, so lobbies would spawn faster. The intent was to hide how far away you're connecting to by not showing you actual numbers.
It was a terrible decision that's been cursed by players ever since, and BHVR seems willing to die on the hill of never putting it back. They somehow believe that an icon that only shows up when you're already lagging, put in a small lobby with no map loaded and almost no activity, will suffice to let you know how bad it's going to be once you're in the trial.
If you ever wanted insight into their decision making, there you go.

Came here to say this too. It's not that it's hard for them to do, rather they just actively make the decision not to bring it back at this time.
