Can You Guess the Strategy?

I am going to give you several hints at the strategy I am refferring to. It can be a strategy that existed at any point in the history of DBD.

If you believe your opponent is using this strategy, you must drastically change the way you play to have any hope of winning.

When taken to the extremes, can be used to hold the game hostage.

The killer constantly drops chase on survivors while this strategy is in play.

This strategy involves forcing the game into a specific area of the map.

This strategy is extremely unfun for your opponent(s).

I will edit the strategy I am referring to into the post at a later date or after someone successfully guesses what I am thinking

Edit:

The strategy I am referring to was the usage of true infinite window loops when they still existed in the game.

Spots where you can literally never be caught when getting chased there.

Harhar let's guess it starts with "3" and ends with "gen". Very funny.

I thought maybe slugging but you said that the killer constantly drops chase. So what might it be? You already said that the answer is not 3-gen so that's out of question. Maybe constant bodyblocking while the killer chases a survivor but I don't see where you hold the game hostage. It also can't be the PTB Reassurance since your are not constantly dropping chases. It also can't be the old sabo where hooks can'T recover since the killer isn't constantly dropping chase. Honestly I'm running out of ideas so I'm staying with slugging even though that's most likely not the correct answer.

I'd say Forever Legion or Madness 3 Doctor, but I have a feeling it's gonna be a plot twist survivor strategy that comes up.

So I'll put my money on unhookable/unsluggable builds ! =)

  • I'm thinking Tombstone Myers since survivors hiding in lockers and Myers unwilling to open locker can be extreme hostage situation.

It's funny how well the unhookable boil over thing fits this

Is the answer abusing the Breakdown bug or saboing all the hooks when they didn't respawn

Breakdown is bugged? Or are you talking about the old bug where the hooks never respawned?

Yeah Breakdown was bugged for a period in the past where the hook never respawned after the survivor was unhooked. Plenty of teams abused it for lols. Early in the game's history when sabo was introduced, hooks didn't respawn by design

Honestly this is a difficult one. I see a lot of people saying 3 gen's how ever gen kicking was only added roughly 9 months after the games release, and even then it was MUCH worst than it is now. Kicking a gen could only regress a maximum of 25%, and it took just as long to kick a gen than it did a pallet which was 3 seconds at the time. There also weren't many perks to regress gens, Ruin was basically the only good gen regression perk, which also VERY different.

My guess is a Sabo Squad since that's always been a thing, how ever I don't know how that could make the killer drop chase. I'm probably missing something but that's my guess

Yeah that's what I meant by old Breakdown bug.

I had a killer give me hatch one time because I got matched with a 3-stack SWF abusing that bug and I was the only one not doing it.
