New Gamemode Idea

Traitor (Name is a work in progress)

6 Survivors, 1 Traitor.

Players must complete objectives in order to power a door that can allow them to escape. One of these survivors is a killer sent by the Entity to kill this group from the inside.

The Survivors must complete 7 objectives (I don't know what these will be yet) and must discover who the killer is, and avoid them.

The "Traitor's" abilitys:

Ability to remove their mask and blend in with the Survivors.
Can do everything (And I mean everything) Survivors can do.
Can Grab Survivors when they are close enough.
While "Blending in" the "Traitor" can move at the same speed as the Survivors while walking, crouching, and running.
While "Hunting" (Killer mode) The "Traitor" will move at 113% movement speed. (Nice middle between 110 and 115.)
The "Traitor" can help complete objectives to help themselves blend in more and seem less suspicious.
Gameplay Mechanics:

There will be no injured or downed state.
Other Survivors can rescue Survivors that are grabbed by the "Traitor".
In Game Voice Chat!
In game voice chat will have direction and distance. (Like how the sound of gens changes based on where you are)
There will be no lockers.
None of the characters will be as dark as Claudette as to avoid players hiding in dark corners the whole match.
When a Survivor is grabbed, a "health bar" will begin to drain. This bar will not refill (Sorry alcoholics :D).
Each time a Survivor is grabbed, their "health bar" will drain faster and faster. (Don't want to grab someone 15 times and the bar only go down by 15% or less)
End Game Plans:

There will be no hatch.
There will be no time limit (Maybe an option for KYF)
All players will no when the one exit is open.
The "Traitor" will see the auras of all remaining Survivors for 5 seconds.
Survivors "health bars" will go down 10% faster (Idk how big of a difference this would make)
If this gamemode were to be implemented it could add a layer of fun AND maybe some mystery since you don't know who the traitor is. I think it would be really fun and a much needed change.

What do you all think? What would make this idea better? I got the idea for this from the trailer that released for The Legion. I feel like Legion belongs in this gamemode more than they do in the base game. It just feels more appropriate for their character and ability.

honestly, I like this idea, but I don't think it fits in with DBD at all.

it completely removes the actual "killers" from the game and they are kinda the whole reason DBD exists to begin with.

with all of that said, sounds like a fun game on its own. reminds me of some the garrys mod stuff.

True, but with people always asking for new game modes there are really only two to go for. This and a hide and seek type of mode. This would be a good thing to implement because it would change up the way people play dbd. Yeah they come out with new killers perks and all that stuff but it’s still the same ######### objective every, single, time. No variety.

I'll just copy+paste the link since you didn't look at it apparently. Same concept, just a little more fleshed out.

So I've seen this idea floated around on DBD forums for as long as I've been playing about a killer that can disguise itself as a survivor. This is a terrible idea for a killer in the normal version of the game for numerous reasons. However, I've been brainstorming a way that this would work quite well as an alternate game mode. Please bear with the wall of text as I flesh out the concept.

The Chameleon: Both the survivor and killer votes for a survivor during the lobby once all players are present. All players and the killer will appear as an identical survivor. The killer has 0 terror radius and can attack using The Spirit's weapon. If the killer hits a survivor that is stationary or was performing an action within the last 2 seconds the attack will put the survivor in the dying state. The killer runs at the same speed as the nurse, but vaults the same speed as a survivor. The killer's view is 3rd person. The killer can perform all actions that a normal survivor can, up to and including unhooking a survivor (more on this later).

The killer runs the following perks:

Booby Trap Chest: You can booby trap one chest at a time. If no chest is booby trapped, reveal the aura of all chests. When a survivor opens a booby trapped chest, you can see that survivors aura for 30 seconds or until hooked.

Generator Saboteur: After successfully completing 3 skill checks while working a generator, the next skill check you fail will damage the generator by 50%.

Lack of Empathy: Unlocks potential in one's Aura reading ability. Dying or injured survivor's Auras are revealed to you when within 16 meters.

False Save: You begin the game with 3 tokens. You lose a token by unhooking a survivor. You lose the ability to attack and move at normal survivor run speed for 30 seconds after unhooking a survivor.

The killer also has the following innate traits. When the killer fails a skill check while healing a survivor, it will put the survivor in the dying state. If the killer is standing still and performs a lunge attack, the killer will injure itself. The killer can put itself in the dying state this way, but won't die if the bleedout timer runs out. The killer can heal itself at normal speed.

This game mode can only be played by solo queue. In the game lobby and during the game, player's names are not displayed. The user interface will display 5 survivor icons instead of 4. These icons are randomized every 30 seconds.

Survivors do not get to pick their perks. They have the following perks automatically. Empathy rank 1 (if the killer is injured, survivors will see the killer's aura, but it will appear like a normal survivor's aura), Windows Of Opportunity rank 3, We're Gonna Live Forever rank 3, and No One Left Behind rank 3.

The survivor perks are generally picked to encourage cooperative play, but the killer's abilities are all designed to create distrust.

I did look at it, just not for very long since I had to go to class.

Edit: it's good to know that there are similar ideas floating around. It shows the dev's that we the community know what we want for the future of the game.

I have an idea... an unranked, “natural” mode.

No perks, no items, no add-ons, no offerings, no auras, no scratch marks, and no GUI. Absolutely no GUI, not even progress bars or button prompts. Survivors can’t tell what’s going on with their teammates, and Killers can’t tell what’s going on with the Survivors (due to lack of Survivor profiles).

This could be a “hard mode” for everyone, even Survivors, and especially The Nightmare, The Spirit, and The Legion, as they rely on auras and scratch marks.
That legit sounds ######### fun. I would actually enjoy playing that. A lot more skill required from both sides. Maybe put the survivors in 1st person too, actually turn it into a damn horror game like it's supposed to be.
