Knight's Patrol Path

How does the Knight's Patrol Path work? I haven't played as that killer more than maybe 10 times however I thought I understood how it worked until the last match I was in as a survivor. I was using Kindred and we where playing on the Red Forest map.

When the killer hooked a survivor I could see the killers silhouette since I was using Kindred and the killer was on the other side of the map. Moments later(maybe like 8 to 10 seconds) one of the Knight's guards was patrolling almost right next to me. That is the first time I have seen the Knight set up a patrol so far from the location they were at seconds before. Then the Knight showed up seconds later.

Seems odd to me that the killer was able to set up a patrol that far then show up so fast or is that something that specific killer can do and I just don't know much about it?

Keep in mind that when he's drawing a patrol, he has no terror radius. He may have been closer than you thought. Also, he now gets a speed boost after drawing a long patrol.

Patrol Path goes from point A (the Knight) to point B (where the power ends).

Guards is summoned on the B side and runs to A and repeats until the timer on the patrol runs out or he finds Survivor to start chasing.

If Knight is creating path that is longer than 10 meters, you don't see the path anymore as Survivor, so that means he can appear somewhere while you don't even notice it. There is also one addon that makes this range (how far you can go) even longer.

OK that explains it. I just have never seen anyone use the Guard to his maximum potential until now I guess.

On red forest and using kindred you saw the killer on the other side of the map? Kindred only let's you see like 16 meters I think from the hook. 24 if some is using ace in the hole. If you saw the killer he was near the hook.

Also, unhooking makes the patrol go away.

Don't forget Guards on their patrol path need vision, (in most cases) to spot a survivor. A survivor should still be able to sneak around a guard. But it's also important to note that loud actions, like dropping a pallet or vaulting a window can trigger a guard in range with no regards to vision. So if you drop a knight on the 2nd floor of the school and they drop a pallet the floor under it will start a chase.
