Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Can you all tell me precisely what is wrong with this picture?

20230216201102_1.jpg

I was under the impression gen spreads like this were no longer a thing, I literally do not need to move and I still win just off of attrition alone

I really do have to ask, how hard is it to just prevent two gens from spawning in the main hall of RCPD? Or preventing two gens from spawning super close together on any map for that matter? I've had spreads like this on Lerys and Haddonfield, this makes the game so easy I could win it blindfolded with a spread like this

Happens quite often on this map, also on swamp almost 2 spawned to near each other, and the third very close by, surprised how could even be that allowed.

Afaik the 2 gens in main hall in the positions as in the picture are considered intended spawns, even at the same time. For the rest, RPD is 3 gen central by default. The rework is just as bad as the original but for different reasons.

In general, gen distance seems to have been bugged or intentionally removed for a long time. You can really get some stupid clusters on basically any map. I recently had a 5 gen main building side on Coal Tower and the I saw the same spawn on a recent DbD League qualifier. Swamp maps can get most gens in the middle. Yamaoka often spawns 4 gens. The list goes on.

That's every game on RPD. Sadly people still don't seem to realize as survivor you need to break the 3 gen asap.

All reworked maps seem to have this problem.

Simply reducing the size but without taking into account the spawn of generators is a rather questionable choice

I get that nearly every map has a 3 gen somewhere, but even maps that haven't been reworked recently have this problem.

Had a Dead Dawg the other day where we had gallows and main, and the other 5 gens were all along the main road for whatever reason. Windmill and across the street from Mill, behind the building at the T, behind jail and in the street by jail. The map was basically 40% of full size from the start. I've never seen a spawn with literally nothing in the desert before.

Everyone gets their least favourite things! Really good windows and basements and an area which dumps like three gens in one screen.

People still whining about 3 gens after Eruption was killed? 3 gens are almost always going to happen no matter what, unless every map is Mother’s Dwelling size. Not to mention maps like Haddonfield, RPD, and Lery’s are heavily survivor sided, with the 3 gens being their only saving grace. Rebalance gen speeds and maps and stuff and then we can talk about making the 3 gen strat less prevalent.

I feel like I'm crazy but this version of haddonfield used to have an upstairs gen that could spawn and you could walk on the roof, it was much safer yet it never spawns anymore. It's always the gen in the left room.

They are literally gonna release another trash weak killer whose only purpose is to force a 3gen but you continue to ignore the problem of gens spawn. Wake up

Played a really awful game against a Sadako on RPD yesterday. 30 mins of her jumping to TVs to give you more condemn bars, healing caused condemned bars, and she only slugged and stayed coming back to main entrance with her call of Brine info, defending her three gen. Grabbing a tape meant you had to go across the map through, guess what, main entrance to the other side. On the way you probably picked up more condemned stacks and ran right into her. Unwinnable. I've made a thread complaining about this gen spread as well as the two at main house in Haddonfield and nothing has been addressed for why this is that way. Meanwhile, the devs have moved gens and totem spawns secretly on EVERY other map. I'm tired of this game and I hope RPD goes the way of Hawkins Lab.

Yep BHVR hitting the bad map bingo card once again. I’m convinced they’ve marked off the whole sheet with the most recent 3 maps tbh

So how do you propose to fix the “problem” then? Like I said, any map is going to have 3 gen potential unless every map is absolutely gigantic which would heavily skew the game into survivor’s favor. It’s your responsibility as a survivor to avoid 3 gen scenarios as much as possible, and even when the killer is hardcore defending them at the start, they are still perfectly beatable, especially without Eruption.

There are 3-gen situations and then there's being able to keep an eye on 3 gens simultaneously just by standing still and turning my ######### camera. The former is fine and punishes the survivors for not thinking ahead, the latter is unacceptable and a consequence of bad map design

I like the former, i hate the latter
