How do matchmaking incentives work?

Sometimes the BP bonus is at 100% for one of the sides.

When I queue up it can take up to a minute to find a game.

If I switch to the other side, I can get into a game in seconds.

Such incentivizes are supposed to balance the population for each side, so I think it would stand to reason that the side with the BP bonus has shorter queue times because less players.

But sometimes this doesn't appear to be the case.

Is it based on MMR as well? Do different players see different rewards based on their MMR?

    Different for MMR I think based on:

    The account next to me has more success in both rolls.

    Usually we are both 100% killer bonus except for early A.M.

    Early A.M. the other account may have 100% survivor and mine may have 50%.

    Sometimes the other killer account will persist in its 100% bonus for longer.

    So from this I assume the account next to mine has higher MMR based on my observation of success, and that means that account tends to be matched with higher MMR survivors, and there is more need for killers the higher MMR goes.

    My own account has somewhat lower MMR, and there is less need for killers at that place, so my BP bonus will drop off sooner.

    Survivor MMR, is less understandable, we both tend to get the same bonus for that, the few times its available.

    Definitely an MMR factor. I have the game on Switch and PS5. I'm firmly in mid-MMR on the Switch and it's consistently 100% survivor up until around 9pm, then it can be anywhere from 25% survivor to 75% killer, with 100% killer on the odd occasion (mostly weekends). On the PS5 I'm low-MMR at the moment and while it's still usually survivor, it can just randomly change to killer with no rhyme or reason, and late night is definitely 100% killer.

    So same region and server, same TV, just different MMRs. I can change between the two consoles and have two different incentives.
