Imagine if this happened to the normal version of DbD
Mobile players are literally getting screwed over. From what I understand (correct me if I'm wrong) BHVR will partner with Netease to re-launch DbD Mobile on March 15, and that's ok. You know, newer version, the rift, new skins, custom moris and so on.
The problem is that characters you actually bought with auric cells that can't be transferred to the new version (from the old one) will get removed from your account.
As a compensation, Mobile players are getting 9000 shards for both, original and licenced characters. Example: you bought Nancy and Steve for 1000 auric cells? Cool, you now get 18k shards (9k each) back and you can't use them anymore. You lost 10$.
How would you feel if this happened to the normal DbD version (pc and consoles)? Why can't they just get their auric cells back if they can't use those characters anymore?

So I can understand the licensed characters - probably issues with the agreements. I remember being able to earn auric cells in DBD mobile so there is a chance people got those characters for free too. It does suck and they should get refunded in whatever currency they used for the characters.
Mikaela though? She's an original character, makes no sense to not transfer her over with the other original characters.

I legit think I'd quit the game if BHVR pulled that kind of stunt on us here
You either give me a refund or you've essentially stolen from me. If you were willing to steal from me this time, why would I ever trust that you won't do it again later?

What i don't understand is why they don't give auric cells for them?
Even if they come back you would have to pay a second time to use them again.

That's straight-up a disgusting compensation. They should give back the Auric Cells, not Iri Shards.

I do wonder if that's a major reason why they never created a sequel and have just kept building on DBD instead.
I don't know how Rights would work so if they'd have to renegotiate for people (and killers like Freddy would probably get cut doing this considering how unwilling to play ball with BHVR Newline Cinema seems to be) or what but I imagine you'd have a lot of unhappy peeps if they created DBD 2 and either just dumped a bunch of characters or made everyone rebuy their DLC
Although fighting games seem to get away with this all the time so maybe there'd be some anger but people would just accept and deal with it overall.

They actually changed it so that people will get their auric cells back for licensed characters instead of Iri shards!
