How can hit validation serious not understand hits

I can be right up against a survivor and swing but no it doesn't connect but somehow I still get hit over windows and pallets seriously why is hit validation still so bad I seriously can't think of any other game that has worse hit validation. When I first started playing hit validation never existed and I barely got hit miles away from a window I just vaulted or had hits that actually counted but since hit validation it just does the complete opposite hits from windows I'm not even near anymore after a vault someone go down while I'm falling and the killer has to vault to hit me.
