(steam) How do I fix this "the game has initialized incorrectly and may not save your game properly"

This problem has persisted for almost three days and I have found no solution. I have seen discussions, and most of them attribute to server issues but my other friends play the game just fine and don't receive my error on their end. I just wanna play dbd : /

    I can think of trying a couple of things, firstly, to verify the game files. To do this, open steam up to the page for your game in your library and hit the cog button on the right side of the screen about a third of the way from the top. In there, you'll want to select the "Properties" option, which will open a new window. From there, select the "Local Files" tab on the left of the window, and then you can click "Verify integrity of game files," and it will do its thing. If that doesn't come up with an error, I would try uninstalling the game, restarting the computer, and re-installing the game. Hopefully, this helps!
