The Mid-Chapter Fixes All Issues with Deep Rift Cosmetics – Thanks, Behaviour!

Not.

In fact it's the opposite, it sounds like it makes the Deep Rift system cosmetics. We know they are exclusive to the Rift:

Progress beyond Tier 70 of the Archives and earn new Deep Rift Outfits, variations of new Outfits exclusive to The Rift.

Which means there is a high chance they will never return. As of posting this no past Rift has ever returned, nor has a mechanic been announced that allows them to return (such as selling access to old Rifts). If this is wrong please provide a source that contradicts me.

"Well at least it's just recolors"

In the midchapter update, we have this:

Starting with the Tools of Torment Mid-Chapter Update, this Deep Rift will feature unique visuals to better differentiate the bonus Deep Rift Tiers from the regular Rift.

It's possible that they are still "just" recolors, but the main issue is still that once they are gone, you can't ever get them again. Making them more desirable fixes exactly nothing; it just makes the FOMO issue worse.

How does the community feel about Deep Rift cosmetics and this change in particular?

I thought that second paragraph just meant the ACTUAL rift tiers in the UI have unique visuals, i.e. the levels 70-85, NOT the outfits themselves. At least - that's how I'm reading it.

That said, Deep Rift is fairly new so we don't know if the blue re-colours will also return because the tome that introduced them hasn't had its non-deep rift outfits released in the store yet.

But FOMO has always somewhat existed with the rift - you can't ever get those charms again either and re-colours of existing outfits they put in there don't come back either (as far as I know).

How I feel - I don't particularly mind because I accepted a long time ago I'm not getting every single outfit in this game and the idea of the rift is to reward active playing during the season. As far as battlepasses go, I think BHVR's is (whilst not the best) fairly easy and I'm still buying premium from Tome 1's refund currency but I do play the game regularly.

That's a really weird thing to announce if it's literally just the backgrounds of the items. Especially when there is something they could announce regarding the FOMO, i.e. saying that the will put the items in the store, or re-release old Rifts, or any number of things. "We are slightly changing the background colors of our battlepass" is not particularly noteworthy nor does it seem to have been an issue for anyone.

But in all honesty, I don't think that we know for sure that the Deep Rift cosmetics are NEVER coming to the shop. The first Deep Rift set of cosmetics occurred in the last Rift which was about three months ago? 70 days for a Rift and 3 weeks in-between? I'm not a mathematician but not that long ago. Cosmetics don't reappear from the Rift until a year or so later.

Before the website update they said that most, not all items, would return after a minimum of six months, and for the Deep Rift items they said they are exclusive to the Rift. I don't see how that could be interpreted as them being put in the store eventually. Which is the issue here. It's now ~6 months later, so plenty of time to address that. I am not even talking about a fix for it (such as putting them in the store) releasing in the next update but a) acknowledging it's a problem and b) announcing that they are working on a solution.

It doesn't solve in any way the FOMO issue, so I feel pretty disappointed about it. Again.

If I remember correctly they never said that the event items are exclusive though, they did say the Deep Rift items are exclusive to the Rift though.

I feel pretty disappointed about it. Again.

It's so easy to fix too, in a way that even gasp makes them money. Just sell access to old Rifts. Or put the items in the store on a fixed schedule, for money (Auric Cells). Didn't want to grind out a battlepass or maybe didn't even play the game when the items were available for a limited time? Just buy them. There literally is a functional store where you can buy items. They don't have to do much work. Just put items in the store. It's an incredibly easy fix but they refuse to it let alone acknowledge that limited items of any kind are horribly anti-player.
