Let’s talk about Expired Batteries.
Expired Batteries is a Skull Merchant Ultra Rare add on that starts each survivor with a claw trap, but they only last for 40 percent battery charge before expiring. That’s it. That’s all it does.
Let’s talk some numbers. For each survivor trackable via your tracker, either by claw trap of drone, the SM gets a percentage boost in her movement speed, by a factor of 3%, 5%, 6%, and 7%.
The claw traps made via expired batteries only last 40% of their normal time before dieing. A normal claw trap last 45 seconds. 10% is 4.5 seconds. Multiply that by 4, and and you have the initial batteries created by expired batteries lasting a total of 18 seconds.
So, the sole purpose of this add on is tracking at the start of the game, and 18 seconds of an additional 7% of speed, bringing you up to 123% speed for less then a third of a minute.
im of the mindset that add ons are much more valuable and important to the game then perks. Add one change a weak killer into a strong killer. (circumstances permitting, of course.)
So my question is, what are your thoughts? Is Expired Batteries really strong enough to justify being an ultra rare, or even a very rare? Because something that is only strong for less than a third of a minute before turning off for the rest of the game seems………….terribly lacking.
Skull Merchant has some strong add ons. Some of the strongest are of a much lower rarity. (The one that gives oblivious while in a drone’s radius and for 15 seconds afterwards is likely her strongest add on, and that’s a green.)
id love to hear the thoughts on those who use the new Expired Batteries. Was it worth it? How strong did it make your early game? Is it worth running this over Lethal Pursuer?

It's completely useless. It was very good when it was a purple addon but now it's as useless as it can get. You're better off using other addons.

4.92m/s * 18s = 88,56m,
4.6m/s * 18s = 82,8m
Distance Gainz of 5,76m and you basically get a one-time use of a worse Lethal Pursuer.
I´m pretty sure a brown addon would have more usage in a match and work multiple times instead of just once at the beginning.

Also lethal pursuer gives you +2 seconds bonus aura reading that works with powers, addons and perks meanwhile this addon doesn't give you anything extra.

Why not just run lethal? Costs 25% of perk loadout space and still serves another purpose mid and late game vs taking up 50% of your addon space and it serves no purpose past that early game zoom

I´m sure they´ll buff the duration of the Expired Batteries by 10% for an even 50%.
Just like with the Exposed Iridescent´s of Twins, Nemesis and Deathslinger.
