So, did any streamers play without VPN after the gaslighting incident?

Title.

I don't watch content creators, but I would like to know if they are still getting DDoSed after BHVR investigated themselves and found themselves clear of all wrong doing.

Or is the whole issue just going to get swept under the rug like always? Pretty good timing on that mid chapter plans release...

found themselves clear of all wrong doing.

that’s not what happened at all though?

as to content creators, I know there have been plenty that claimed they got DDoS‘d on console/Epic while others claim it’s only a problem on Steam. I have seen claims from some getting DDoS‘d while using VPN.

sad thing is, there is plenty of false claims so the true ones (that do exist) kinda get overshadowed. Also it is possible it is not (entirely) on BHVRs side if the claims of only Steam affected is true..

Otz, Spooky, and OhTofu all referenced having to switch to Epic, and afterwards, they were fine. Although I think most of their MMRs got messed up in between switching back and forth from Epic to Steam. Otz also referenced it shutting down his entire home network despite being on a VPN, so whatever was happening to them doesn't appear to be only a crash, as BHVR's statement said, (granted, I THINK their statement boiled down to basically, "In every instance of issues we monitored on our end, it was a crash." Which isn't saying DDosing didn't happen. I don't know, their statement confused me a bit.) I think the other two also referenced being on a VPN. Most of them live with other streamers so I entirely get the notion of switching to Epic if it alleviated the issue so that other people in the home didn't lose their connection/stream.

That said, WHATEVER happened was extremely, extremely weird. I've also seen people bring up that they believed a few streamers playing entirely different games were also being targeted in the same manner. Either way, whatever happened is certainly something I can't entirely comprehend.

Questions like: If it was a Steam IP leak, despite VPNs in place and people only being targeted while streaming. If they could get through the VPN in the first place, why exactly would switching to Epic change anything? I don't know, just a lot of things definitely don't add up. It's like some weird Network Spellcraft that doesn't make sense to me. It's just really bizarre.

That's the really sad part. So many claims flying around and nobody can be trusted.

If someone's internet went offline while they were streaming on Twitch after BHVR's announcement, we would at least have a clue. But it looks like everyone is just going to pretend the problem went away. Quite depressing to be honest. I'd love to ditch my VPN.
