Pros to Altruistic Medkits?

I'm seeing a lot of disagreement with BHVRs desicions when it comes to medkits right now, and while I want to see them in-action before I agree or disagree with the changes, there is something I think is kind of nice:

The fact that BHVR has seemingly promoted altruism by having Medkits buff the speed in which you heal others (COH's change does this too).

I feel like this may be a nice upside to the changes. Will survivors me more altuistic now? No idea. But the sentiment is there and MAYBE it is something that should be applauded or at least looked foreword to in this aspect.

They've always been able to allow you to heal others faster.

In fact, this update actually nerfs that aspect of medkits.

They did nerf medkits across the board, but they also shifted their focus since they offer buffs only to healing others now. Healing in general is slower, but now, medkits only give a buff if you're being altruistic. The did do this before, but there's more of an emphasis on altruism.

Dude, they nerfed the altruistic speeds compared to live. (The altruism speed buff of med kits are nerfed compared to the live versions buffs, and people never used med kits for altruism. So no, they are doing everything backwards. Self healing with med kit is even stronger now, because they nerfed everything about healing)

So no, altruism is dead with those healing numbers.

Before altruism was 32s and self 16s. Now with altruism 48s and self 24s.

48s is more than half a gen, there is no time for that. If you want heals, either bring a med kit for efficiency or some auto healing build. Or be the healer of the team.

Aka, solos and low/mid level survivors get destroyed.

The change makes no difference. If you're in a SWF, you can coordinate for altruistic heals already, and a 20% speed increase saves you 4s. No one cares: you spent more time than that going across the map to find someone.

If you're solo q, the medkit is sometimes your only method of healing (now will be the only, with circle dead). You can't rely on your teammates.

A guaranteed heal you can complete by yourself, anywhere will always be more valuable than 'find another player and we'll give you a 1 second discount'. They could have left the bonus at 50%, and still no one would use it for that.

Considering how it isn't worth it even with the current numbers to use a Medkit to heal someone else, I don't see how nerfing altruistic heals across the board on top of base healing speeds encourages altruism.

Spending 4000 Bloodpoints for a 35% heal speed bonus on one single heal just really isn't worth it. Medkits will still primarily be used for self-healing, they'll just be a bit worse at it.
