How To Use The Insta-Heal Medkit?

So I'm on PS4 and I was randomly given a Medkit with the Ultra rare syringe and I had never used one before so I had no idea how. Luckily I didn't need it so I escaped with it but how do you use it? I know you can use it like normal but also use the insta-heal so I'm a bit confused.
