What perks do you refuse to use ever?

What are the perks that you wholeheartedly refuse to use ever? Not because that perk is bad or garbage or anything like that, but because you think it's too powerful, too cheesy, skew the MMR etc... Just out of principle or like that.

To me, on killer, it's NOED. I think that I am not that good of a killer player (lower mid tier) and if I start to use NOED, the game doesn't differentiate how I got those kills. Only that I got them. There for, if I use it and get more kills than I should've had in the first place, the game begins to put me against more efficient and better survivors, that are WAAAYYYY out of my league. I think this perk is way too much cheesy. And in the end, I wont get better at the game if I get kills that I don't deserve. I know, I know. The perk doesn't guarantee 100% kills every time, but I shouldn't be rewarded because I played like a paraplegic reindeer after having 50 beers.

On survivor side, I refuse to to use DS and DH. I know and understand the reason why these perks exist, and I agree. To prevent tunneling. But I've never found (at least to me) any reason why to use these. They're great on beginners, and might be somewhat of meta perks ATM, but after playing 2+ years, I find these two perks really boring.

P.S. Please. Let's try keep the discussion civilized, ok? No need to go flaming each others because of reasons X, Y and Z. I'm just curios to hear if there are others that think like me.

P.P.S. And I do not mean this as an insult to people that use these perks that I mentioned. Or diminish/ridicule your experience(s) in the game. These are only my own thoughts and I can only speak for my self.

Cheers, everyone.

👍

I refuse to use gen slow down or gen speed up perks on either side. I never really liked the idea of having these kinds of perks that make the game the hardest to balance due to manipulating the numbers of the main objective. On the killer side specifically, I also don't use NOED since I feel like it rewards me for doing badly, but that's just me. On specifically survivor, I don't use exhaustion perks unless I need them for challenges. I don't find them op or anything like that, but I feel like I have learned how to loop and escape killers better without the need for them.

I’ve always felt that way about NOED.

    Furtive Chase

did a perk randomizer like 2 years ago and kept getting the damn perk. Never recovered from that event...

Killer: eruption (before the nerf I thought it was to powerful and now after the nerf I think it's a worthless perk that gives info when I don't want it)

Survivor: DH bc I hate that perk with every fiber of my being.

    Dead Hard.

I used to be the same way with old NOED and old Eruption but not anymore since they've been nerfed.

I've never really seen the point in limiting myself of possible perk options without any real reason to do so. There are a lot of perks I just don't use often due to them not fitting well with my playstyles.

Most exhaustion perks don't mesh well with my playstyle cause I don't really go outta my way to get into chases to the point of feeling like I need that much of an edge.

I don't use perks that aid in slugging very often cause I tend to immediately go for the hook and thus slugging is super situational for me to the point that using a perk slot on it seems not worth.

I didn't mean that the perk must be OP or useless and per say. Just for reason you don't like to use a certain perk. Like I said about DS and DH; They are boring to me. I didn't say they were OP.

I don't really have any at this point. I adamantly refused to run Eruption. Same with old Mettle of Man when it came out. I won't run blatantly broken perks. But I don't think any blatantly broken perks exist at this point.

NOED still feels cheap, but I throw it on every now and then on weaker killers. I've never liked a completely un-telegraphed instadown as a mechanic. An "oh ****" moment only goes so far, and you still have a PVP game after that. It just feels cheap.

I've never used Noed and have no plans to.

On surv I ignore Dead Hard cause I suck at using it.

I don't have any perk I have sworn on honor not to use, because I think it's a little silly. My friend swore up and down to never use DH for such reasons yet he used to put NOED on all his builds, so talk about consistency !

That being said, I've never used DH and am not planning to start. I'm comfortable with no exhaustion perk at the moment, messing around with looter builds.

Dead Hard, because I know how it feels to be a killer and have your power momentarily rendered null and void.

My reasonings for not using those isn't because i want to be a special snowflake.

I never in my career used DH/DS/UB, only meta pick in my build is adrenaline.

DH cuz i suck at timing, DS and UB because in my thousands of hours i got use out of them maybe twice.

As for killer i don't use gen kick perks. No matter how good they were, finding and kicking a gen imo was a waste of time i could use on another chase

I never used Call of Brine, Overcharge or Eruption. Whenever I play killer it's all about having more or less passive slowdowns so I spend less time kicking and patrolling gens and more time in chases. It's also partly because I find it difficult justifying kicking a gen and allowing an aware survivor to W across the map by the time I'm done.

There are many good passive(ish) slowdown perks like Pain Resonance, No Way Out, Corrupt, Deadlock, Jolt. But my favourite build is currently No Way Out, Agi, Corrupt and Bamboozle.

    DH, CoH, and Gen slowdown

I use Noed alot before the nerf, stack with other end game perk to give me power trip and putting a final challenge to survivors.

CO2 for survivor (not that it matter cause everyone on the team run it)

For Killer definitely noed! i kinda feel like a slime ball 3k-ing off a would be L

Ruin. I already found it bad before the nerf, but now it is just detrimental to you. Ruin's regression is so laughable that there are survivors who won't even bother cleansing it if they have Soul Guard.

Object of Obsession. We just hate (REALY REALY HATE) the perk on principle before and after the rework. We will gladly throw games just to make sure they die and if we ever run it we accept whatever the killer does.

As killer, you'll never catch me with Noed I'd rather get downs via good gameplay most game than get an insta down I really didn't earn.

As survivor, screw DH. That perk just refuses to work unless I do it early which isn't the 0.5 activation requirement

Well I'm the same... No NOED nor DH

They don't fit my playstyle... I play around the mid match as Killer so NOED doesn't make that much sense to me

And I'm terrible at chases so I don't want to rely on a perk that I don't even like seeing as Killer

None. All perks are fair game.

Perks that I find obnoxious, so stale it just makes things boring or perks that are, for one reason or the other, surrounded by way too much hype/controversy.

For killer that includes noed and knockout. - To some degree Franklins; only if people announce they only want to bully (e.g. by self-explanatory matching names) do I put it on (and consider it playing the game according to the rules they made).

On surv it's DH, Boil Over and bringing BNP (not a perk but, eh). Also Sole Survivor.

    .... and that's kinda it.

    Insidious.

Apart from camping it's a waste of a perk slot and should definitely be reworked, because the current way it works encourage (or at least rewards) camping or other cheesy strategies.
