Better? Yes.
Good? Not really.I noticed a definite improvement to the game when I upgraded but there are still frame rate issues and crashing.

LOL I mean you will notice it. I can't give you numbers I have no idea. Every game runs better. DBD still has issues though. I still get frame rate issues on some maps as killer. Also as survivor when the killer has a lot of perks that trigger notifications. But where most killer games were really choppy on a normal Xbox, it only happens on maps like Haddonfield and Lery's, or when there is purple fog. Generally speaking the game plays better.
The X is worth it IMO. Games like Gears of War 4 which were built to work on the platform specifically look and play AMAZING. You will see an improvement in every game you play, including DBD, just don't expect it to fix all the problems. It's pretty clear the game itself has performance issues. Also you will still get crashing, but again it's the game. I've had Gears crash maybe a handful of times on the X (had it since it came out) and that's always in a very extreme circumstance (usually a server crash that boots me to a menu, or one time in Horde Juvies when there were like a million enemies and explosions going off and maybe someone quit IDK).
My main reason to get the X was because I had a gen 1 Xbox One and the power brick was failing, and the fans were failing. When my HDD started to fail I had to get a new one, and the X was out so I decided to future proof myself for an extra $200. It's way quiet and runs cool, and doesn't have a brick so it's as travel friendly as an S.

PS. I would also recommend you invest in an external HDD to fit all your games. I have a gen 1 X so it's only 500GB? Maybe 1TB? Not sure but it's small. I only keep a few tiny games on there (DOOM 1 and 2, some party games). I got myself a 4TB external WD Easystore and keep all my games there. The external drives actually read faster and are more stable than the internal ones. Though I will admit I did not try playing DBD from the internal, that could improve performance too but I doubt it since it reads slower.
