Do you like "struggling" on the hook?

Options

I'd like your opinion on this: Do you think there's room for improvement when it comes to "gameplay" when you're on the hook.

Personally, I really dislike mashing space while you're on the hook. It's tedious, it's not fun and it's not intense, it's just tedious. I'm pretty sure it's there as a desperate attempt to convince you you're still playing the game, but it doesn't work. It's just annoying. I would like it if I could just hold the space bar.

I'd also like it if you could point while you're in the first sacrifice phase to show if the Killer is remaining nearby camping instead of the strange escape spam communication. Little things like this would improve the solo player's experience I think.

Change your bind to MW Down.  You’re welcome.

They should change it into a meaningful action, similar to snapping out.

Yes, i even let the killer hook me so i can go straight to the second stage. Can't wait for the struggling! :)

Jeez, that's brilliant (not being sarcastic), thank you!

Sadly this was already mentioned to the team.
It was brought up that people with a certain disability would be less able to keep up the pressing and having an alternative, but since the team has considered it and nothing has changed, I fear the worst.

I don't "like" it, but i'm not bothered by it.
I just spam it with minimal movement, but still fast, resulting in little to no damage to the keyboard while also keeping the noise down.
Plus i don't suffer from anything, so spamming it doesn't do anything to me physically.

I'd still prefer for it to be replaced by continuous Skill Checks though...

It would give This Is Not Happening a lil buff too, if they were to make Great Skill Checks have a certain bonus when in phase 2.

I hate mashing space when on the hook struggling because I got carpel tunnel syndrome and that #########'s hurting me something fierce.

I just bind it to the F key and very calmly press it every 1/2 second, no struggle at all ;)

I have tendinitis and I can never make it to a full struggle without changing hands. I would rather have skill checks every 2 or 3 seconds than having to smash a button. I end up letting go.

That's what I did since release. It's better, but still not good.
It's just a bad mechanic and it feels like something from 2005 lol
    Absolutely outdated

No it doesn't "build tension" or anything the devs keep saying is the intention, it's just annoying.

If anything, the only tension comes from knowing at any point lag could cause you to die unjustly.

They actually also said it's meant to be annoying.

Why did they have to extend that concept to the entire game tho?

I would rather hold the space bar to give up. Sick of the button spam.

I don't believe that they actually said that. Why would any game dev implement mechanics which are annoying intentionally?

They did say it. As I understand it, their philosophy is that losing should be annoying. While I think there's some truth to that and have even defended struggling as it is now, I've since changed my mind because of people who cannot play properly because of this.
This is not a matter of skill or willingness; some people physically can't struggle. It doesn't impact the game in any way if struggling is made easier for the sake of those with muscle and nerve disorders. This would be a QoL change.

    But they did.
And they did it to keep your hands busy.

Older PS4 player here. Hammering X with your thumb is really difficult. Trying to switch from thumb to finger has led to many accidental suicides.
