A DBD Christmas: Survivor Edition

Up in the sky, the entity lurked around
Until it was met with an unusual sound
It heard a scream, but those are known
Yet this one had a very different tone

It came from the campfire, the entity decided
And searched for the sound, determined to find it
It drifted over the forest, confused and curious
What were those survivors doing, that was so serious?

And then it found it, and it was surprised to see
The survivors all smiling, laughing happily
This realm that is filled with terror and fear
Had shifted to one of joy and cheer

They sat around the fire, with boxes in their hands
Adorned with all kinds of colorful bows and bands
Where did they find such wrappings in this lair?
For plot’s sake, let’s all say we don’t care

Determined to find what this was all about
The entity watched, hidden from the crowd
Then from the campfire’s flickering light
It came to find a rather unique sight

To one another, the strange boxes were passed
And they briefly examined the one they were cast
Before the survivors, in a minute, had chosen
Which gift should be the first one open

The first was Dwight who gave a nervous grin
At the large box his friends shoved over to him
He had stood on tip-toes to peel the paper down
And his friends all watched with eyes big and round

What he saw then brought a tear to his eye
A portable locker in which he could hide
He gathered his friends in a big group hug
A rather tight one at that, and very snug

Next up was Meg with eyes full of glee
She ripped the paper down excitedly
What was inside, if her smile clues
Was a brand new pair of running shoes

She thanked her friends with a wild smile
And threw the torn wrapping into the pile
She then slipped on the shoes and did the lace
This would surely give her a faster pace

Then was Claudette, adjusting her glasses shyly
She carefully removed the paper quietly
She peeked inside and her eyes lit
Inside the box was a prestige 3 outfit

She thanked her friends with all her heart
And folded it away, part by part
She thought of all the time in matches
She could spend hiding in shadowy patches

Then came Jake, scanning the gift warily
He turned it around, and shook it carefully
Before at last, ripping off the wrap
And lifting up the boxes cardboard cap

The boys eyes were flooded with joy
Inside it was tools built to destroy
He gave his friends a heartfelt thanks
Nothing would be safe from Sabo Jake

Next was Nea who took the gift
And used her claws to tear a rift
She shredded the paper without mercy
And ripped the little gift impatiently

There she saw a mask in its place
Hopefully to hide her ugly face
She gave the others a satisfied growl
She decided then that she’d spare them for now

Then was David, who waved off the present
But with some pleas, decided to accept it
With a shrug, he opened it, removing the green band
And did a double take at what he held in his hand

Inside was a neatly signed petition
From the others, there’d be no disconnection
If he used No Mither during a match
As long as he helped with gens to open the hatch

The coming turn was Laurie Strode
Who opened the gift she was bestowed
What she saw suddenly made her gasp
Inside was a pointed shard of glass

She smiled wide and hugged her gift
It was OP but it still made her spirits lift
She thanked the others and couldn't wait
To see the salt this would create

Runner up was the man named Ace
With his usual grin across his face
He opened his gift quick, tossing the tie
But froze in place at what met his eye

Inside for him was new pairs of shades
That he could throw at salty noobs in spades
He already looked forward to that a ton
And thanked his friends with a finger gun

Next to open her gift was Feng Min
Whose patience from waiting had worn thin
She tore it open quickly and was happy to see
A bright and colorful, brand new tee

She unfolded the shirt and read what was sown
In bright blue letters it said, “R U MAD, BRO?”
And right underneath the gaming shirt
Was an unexpected but nice buff to Alert

Then the attention was turned on Quentin
Who was already opening the gift that was sent him
He reached in and pulled out pack after pack
Of all kinds of coffee to keep the sleep back

This kind of thing was exactly what he was needing
Since he ran out of drugs, and had been sleeping
Not that Freddy can do much any way
But it surely can’t hurt to keep him at bay

Then next was Kate whose gift was rather large
She tore it open excitedly, to see a brand new guitar
She took a moment to look over the wood
Before hugging it as tightly as she could

She had all kinds of songs in mind
All she needed now was time
She had already got to tuning the strings
As she called the others “darlin’ things”

Last but not least was Adam, gift in his lap
He sheepishly opened it, neatly tearing the wrap
He opened the box and his eyes began to brim
It was filled with rocks, just for him

All kinds of rocks, multiple shades of grays
Different shapes and sizes, they’d last him days
He thanked the others while laughing a bit
Quickly trying to hide his sentiment

With the gifts all opened, the wraps left in a mound
Kate played on her new guitar, a familiar sound
A classic Christmas hymn, and they all knew it well
They all sang along, filling the night with a peaceful spell

The entity watched them for a bit longer
And decided then, as the joy grew stronger
That it’s gift to them this day would be
A time of rest and a time of peace

It hadn’t a clue where this celebration came from
It certainly wasn’t anything it had done
But there was something that stirred the monster there
Maybe this is something it could share

It hadn’t given it’s servants any proper reward
And maybe to them it could accord
A day much like this, of happiness and joys
Perhaps it could give them a few new toys

It then drifted off into the clouds
Away from the chorus of happy sounds
And begun to figure out a way
To give it’s servants a joyful day

Hey, Merry Christmas to the devs and everyone who read this. I hope you all had a great holiday this year. I know we all disagree a bunch and the game itself has it's problem, but we're all part of the same community in the end. Yes, I know I probably spent to much time on this. And I know a couple survivors aren't included. I couldn't really think of good lines for them so I though it was for the best that I left them out.

Regardless, I hope you enjoyed it. I might do a killer edition next year but I'm not certain. Whether I do or not, I hope all of you had a great Christmas and an awesome year. :chuffed:

There was a couple survivors I didn't include because I couldn't really think of good lines for them. I never played L4D so I was bit out of luck there and Jeff just came out so I wasn't sure, especially since I don't even own him yet. There was't much that came to mind for David Tapp either. I'm sorry for not including them, but I couldn't find something for them that fit.
