Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

If you want to win, why not slug?

So I've been slugged as survivor for a few games now. No, it doesn't happen every game but I'd say it happens quite frequently, perhaps 3/5 times on average. The most common killers I've had slug the team would be Myers and Ghostface, Myers when he gets tier 3 and just happens to catch us at a bad spot say, 2 of us working on a gen at a time. Downs 1, chases other, downs, then refuses to pick up and goes for those remaining. At times camping the area around our bodies to hopefully lure the remaining survivors which sometimes works.

I've also been in games where killer will choose to slug in order to pull off the win in the endgame. Basically he/she is likely going to lose due to being behind on hooks / kills before all 5 gens are completed. So, the killer at 4-5 gens will resort to slugging to win. I'm not 100% familiar with the perks in this game but I know there's a perk where at 5 gens survivors become exposed (NOED?) and this is where they choose to slug instead.

I've been playing for around 2 months now but still do you guys think there is a way to improve this game mechanic? It feels like a pretty cheap tactic to circumvent the whole hooking mechanic of the game.

This is obligatory sadly, else it's free escape for survivors.

I don't because I have been on the receiving end of that kind of tactic far too many times to be willing to do that to a normal player (Bully Squads or players that leave me zero choice I'll do it to).

I recognize that it will cost me games as a killer but that's a choice I'm willing to make. I do not blame or fault others who choose otherwise.

However, like camping or 3 genning, I do not believe there is any decent way to combat this without either drastically changing the gameplay of DBD. There are too many players who will find ways to abuse it and there are innocent killers who will get screwed over by it mechanics that would "fix" it like the basekit Unbreakable.
