PS4 - Can't join freind in a party

Could not see my friend online in the game or his name anywhere in the DBD players list, but he was is a PS4 party with me and my PS4 friend and he could see me, but he could not join me. He tried sending me invites and could not join either. Closed the game, restarted several times and even tried a different PS4. Finally deleted him as friend in PS4 and added him back in and that fixed it!
