Fun in DBD!
Hello guys :D i started this Discussion because i had the question, what is Fun?
We must see this from 2 sides. (Killer / Survivor)
Lets beginn with the Survivors, what is Fun in playing Survivor? I think, looping the Killer, make Beamersaves, bully the Killer or only win the Game. For some Survivor is it fun tho throw the Game to have Fun with the Killer or Farm with them.
But what thinks the Killer about the Fun of the Survivors?
As a mostly Killer Main, the looping or bulling of the Survivors are most of the Time so frustrating, as a Killer i also only wanna to have Fun in a Round or get the Win. For this i do tunnel sometimes , in that Case i hav fun as Killer and thats the Point.
Survivors blame the Killer because tunnel for the win, Killers blame the Survivors for Genrush and bulling, in most of the Matches not both sides can have Fun.
Whats your opinon?

To sum up, engaging interactions with some unpredictably.
As a killer we want a hunt and to play with the prey. We like to see if the survivor have skill (or brains) to out play or outsmart us. A chase where we see everything coming is dull. A survivor running towards us and taunting us to chase them is dull and particularly dumb. Can they lose us or rely on a super strong loop? Can they chain loops or predrop? Can they flashlight save proper or are they going to waste time being obvious with it? We enjoy a chance with surprises.
As survivor we like being able to do things and be surprised. We like taking some risks for fun and style like end game saves with the timer going but simply getting camped on hook (or seeing someone else camped) isn't really engaging or can have many surprises.
We can have fun even if we lose long as it was a good game.
To the last paragraph, both sides tend to have a good number of people who just complain because they "lost". Better to ignore the haters.

There is fun to be had when the game is long lasting and you feel like making progress whether you play as a survivor or as a killer.
It is fun when we respect each other - there is no t-bagging nor tunneling and camping.
You know what's fun?
The recognition of a good player. When you win as a killer and a sacrificed survivor says "gg", someone you sacrificed not as the last player, yet, they remained as spectators till the very end.
The recognition of a mistake. You pick Myers and take Scratched Mirror but there is another offering at play and the other person's gets chosen. You find yourself on a map where this add-on is completely useless. The others don't tease you but finish the gens as intended and are appreciative in endgame chat.
I miss the Xmas event where I met survivors I couldn't beat and I just jumped into a snowman swirling like an idiot. That was fun. Others joined in for a while then escaped. No rude remarks, no curses, just pure fun.
Or when you notice someone who has just found a glyph and you leave them finish. Then you continue but not before you exchange a couple of nods.

For the community winning at all costs or making the other side have a miserable time is whats fun

Remember old badge system? That's what pretty much is fun to me. Play the game.
- As a killer: get everything under my control. Be everywhere. Corall survivors where I needed. Deny their objective. Snowball. Mindgames. "Everything everywhere all at once".
Mindlessly chase one survivor ignoring everything else - not fun. Sitting under hook like idiot and doing nothing - not fun. Using cheese and design flaws to get wins - not fun. (As recent I started to go without perks or addons on certain killers, if I lose, nothing happens, but if I win and without exploits - it's super fun)
- As survivor, same thing: outsmart killer, break his momentum, cover weakspots, earn badges in every category.
Sitting holding M1 whole match - not fun. Dangling on a hook seeing how killer sniff my crotch - not fun. Seeing how killer tunneled out one survivor so you have no reason to continue playing - not fun.
