By it slowing down rather than stopping it also counters face camping Bubbas.

Yes it is. A chase triggers chase music, a score event pops up stating you've initiated a chase, and a score event pops up when it ends.
If you have a mechanic that activates/deactivates 'while in a chase', then it has to track whenever or not the killer is in a chase, which is a binary condition. You don't get a live umpire every match judging wether or not the chase was valid.

No mention so far about reducing FOMO, which could be a plus for new players wanting to try the game. 😐️

The anti-camp measures are interesting. New game modes are a big deal to me (game got stale for me) very excited.
Disappointed asf about the anniversary chapter though. Knight, Skull Merchant, and now this? But Art the Clown a no go? pssf.

Facecamping change is kinda sad when playing bubba but other than that it sounds great. Now just tunneling needs to be nerfed. After that killers can be properly buffed.

Ok, it's sad that the previous years Masquerade cosmetics are Auric Cells only.
However, this is a case where the 'timed collection' actually makes sense. Why would you get Anniversary items other than during the Anniversary?

Invitations have charges which can assist in chases.
Survivors can block windows for killers and spawn 1 use pallets (break on vault)
Killers can reduce stuns, break walls and pallets from distance, and inflict exposed when in bloodlust
1 charge is required at least to get the cosmetic. Escape/kills are not required, but they do need to be powered. Hatch Escape counts regardless.
Nea and Hillbilly get full cosmetics
Last years cosmetics will be available in store
Collection and store tab. Collection shows earned cosmetics. Store tab will be for store ones, which contains a ghost face and feng set

Yeah and most soloqueue survivors will just spend 2 whole minutes crouched 10 meters from the hook waiting for the killer to leave, jump out at the last second and fail the trade, instead of doing gens
Guess what: most players are dumb and have literally zero game sense

I remember when people said 'we'll buff the solo survivors and then buff the killers'
solo survivors got hud and killers were left without a buff
now: "We will nerf the tunneling and then buff the killers"
I think this will be repeated until it reaches last year's figure of 4500 survivors / 45 killers in line

The camping mechanic sounds really good. And it sounds like they thought about potential ways it could be abused. Good stuff. You can still proxy and confirm stages by the sound of it, but you aren't going to be able to hard facecamp.

No killer reworks. At all. Like, nothing even hinted at.
Hag, trapper, Myers, etc just ignored completely.
Thats my biggest takeaway. Kinda disappointing in that regard.
Everything else sounds cool but I was hoping to hear more about the killers.

I mean, I'm happy we got something else besides charms. But the lowest bar of putting them in the store afterwards is still not done. 🤬

It was always a case of "we'll see IF the changes result in lower kill rates THEN buff killers IF that's the case".
Survivor HUD options likely haven't had a huge effect, and this mechanic won't have an effect either, if you don't facecamp.

They did say with the latest midchapter that more minor changes to killers (like we have seen in that update) will be part of upcoming midchapter updates

Bonus like these are almost always case of getting them EARLY. Any videogame preorder bonus or the like, you're getting the benefit of having them as early as possible, while everyone else has to wait.

I'm delighted! And also hyped and thrilled! I was seriously not expecting a Supermassive Games dbd project and it was exactly what I wanted :D Also, pretty much everything was pretty cool. New chapter sounds awesome and, this is just me getting hyped up and jumping to conclusions, but I could see Alien or Predator being one of the next license killers.
Which, by the way, I think no one said. Next 2 killers after the Singularity will be big licenses. I am so, so thrilled. Thank you, BHVR, for putting your soul into this game, even if we aren't always worth of your dedication <3

the facecamping mechanic sounds like it might be good. Someone with more time than me should comb through old forum posts and try to count how many times the community has suggested this exact same mechanic over the years. :D

Out of curiosity, since you are much more versed in the comp scene than I am, how do you think this change will impact comp play, assuming it goes to live as described?

It's hard to say without knowing the exact details.
If the range is like, 8 meters, then I don't think anything changes. You'd still need two people for a save.
If it's more like 12-16 meters, I think it changes a lot. It'd be difficult to secure a 2nd stage, so Killers might just leave instantly as it wouldn't be worth it to stick around. Maybe they'd try to go back after the save to tunnel, I'm not sure.

-Event: seriously? Spawning pallets and making survivors exposed? The game will be absolutely unplayable for the entire event, how did this ever go through?
-Map rebalance: In the same vein as RPD, Eerie and Red Forest huh? They are going to make Cowshed even more survivor sides somehow. Just make every tenth random corn a solid object!

In what world is Rancid Abattoir "notorious"? It easily is the most fair Coldwind map, nobody ever complains about it. Imagine choosing to rework this map when it could have been Thompson or Rotten Fields instead.

So it sounds like the bar fills up at a pretty generous distance and will fill up even if survivors are nearby (granted at reduced rates). I don't think it should fill if survivors are nearby and I worry that the killer could simply be wandering nearby and unknowingly fill the bar:/
