Does the chase music affect which killers you play?

I play mostly survivor, although I would love to play killer more. But the loud killer chase music keeps me from playing more than 1 or 2 games without feeling like I'm going to get a headache because it is just so repetitive and grating and such a big part of the game are chases when you are the killer.

Currently I gravitate towards stealth killers since you can kind of cloak/shroud etc. to get some reprieve but I would love to branch out and play other killers more, for example Spirit but her music is just unbearable for me, even in small doses.

You can't really lower the main volume or you will not hear survivors steps or grunts of pain anymore but there doesn't seem to be an option to lower the chase music specifically or turn it off. I would just love a separate volume option for that. Or what about a visual chase indicator like the visual terror radius for survivor?

I am wondering if anyone else is affected by the chase music? Which killer do you not play because of the chase music?

Probably. At least a little. For example I absolutely hate Skull Merchant's chase music (though I hate literally everything about her) but I love Spirit's chase music and although I play without headphones I do play her from time to time for exactly that reason.

yes. Killers, which was basically renewed from generic music to original ones, has gone bad. Nurse is particularly noticeable and is perceived as a de facto nerf. I give my opinion every player survey, but it's getting worse and worse, so BhVR probably wants to destroy the eardrums of Killer players.

No, but if they have good chase music it is sure nice plus.

Insofar as one of the reasons I don't play Hag is her chase music, yes. It's not even that it's bad chase music, it's fine, but the way it stops so abruptly when a chase ends really annoys me.

I do wish I could change the chase music for myself. I prefer Legion's Chase Theme over other killers and I want to use it always, but I don't like Legion's gameplay.

Yes. I tried learning Nurse an practiced with her for a bit to see if I could get passed the motion sickness she causes me and the super annoying whistling sound drove me crazy and I went back to Myers. I ain’t touching her again until they improve her music.

Wish I could mute some chase music but keep the heartbeat. Sometimes I prefer to listen my own music, while playing.

Not really. Its just a huge bonus that I get that iconic John Carpenter Halloween chase music when I play Mikey.

    Depends.

Oni's old chase theme is what made me play him, one of my favorite themes ever added and it still frustrates me to this day that they havent fixed it (Its been almost 3 years now)

Other than that, its not a deciding factor for me playing a killer. If they have a cool theme (Like Dredge) then I wont complain

No, I play the killer I want purely for the gameplay. For example, I don't play skull merchant because her gameplay is boring and she's a horrible character. If a killer I'm playing has bad chase music I can always ignore, I got bad hearing anyway.

Not so much the chase music but while I love playing Plague her damn "whispering" when her power is activated is more like the yelling of a drunken trucker looking for his buddies.

Seriously, you can't hear a thing over it.

It's almost as loud as Demo's STOMP STOMP STOMP which makes Undetectable a joke on him, which is a shame 'cause I love playing Demo too!

I enjoy playing Doctor but his chase music really grates on me after a few matches.
